Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Cellier Du Château De La Chaume Chablis 2022, A.C.
Burgundy, France$35.70
Elegant, concentrated, and medium-high intensity aromas of ripe lemon citrus, apple, and pear with hints of stony minerality. It's light-to-medium bodied on the dry, ripe, and lightly honeyed palate with lemon citrus, apple, pear, and floral flavours, plus touches of oyster seashell mineral notes. Gently spicy on the mid-palate. It's all supported by crisp, bracing acidity. Juicy and lip-smacking, with seashell mineral notes lingering on the long finish. Tasted Sept. 2023. Score: 91+ pts
Santa Ema 60/40 Barrel Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon/Carmenère 2021, Sustainable, Do Valle Del Maipo
Maipo Valley, Chile$17.95
A 60/40 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere, the medium-high intensity nose is fresh and herbaceous with red fruited currant, cassis, and oak spice aromas. On the medium to medium+ bodied palate, it is rather woody at this stage, complemented with herbally notes, plus hints of red fruited cassis and currant flavours. It's nicely structured with supple tannins and juicy acidity, while the finish is fresh and lively, with very good length. Tasted Nov. 2023. Score: 88+ pts
La Posta Armando Bonarda 2022, Grown By Estela Armando, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$14.95
Fresh and fragrant, the medium-high intensity nose is ripe and fruity with dark fruited, black cherry, black plum, blackberry, and smoky oak aromas with touches of peppery spice. On the dry, mid-weighted palate it is ripe with black cherry, blackberry, plum, oak spice, pepper, and clove flavours. It has crisp, juicy acidity, along with a touch of warmth on the mid-palate. Present tannins offer a grippy, textured mouthfeel. The balanced flavour profile of black cherry, dark berry, and plum tapering to smoky oak notes linger on the finish, with very good length. Tasted May 2024. Score: 88+ pts
Mountadam Five Fifty Chardonnay 2020, Eden Valley
South Australia, Australia$18.95
Screw cap. The rich, medium+ to medium-high intensity nose offers buttery, vanilla, apple, and lemon citrus aromas with touches of butterscotch and oak spice. It's dry, medium+ bodied and quite spicy on the lively palate with buttery, apple/pear, lemon citrus, vanillin oak spice, and leesy mineral flavours. It is creamy, yet also has a slightly chalky textured mouthfeel. Acids are crisp and juicy. Buttery, apple, and citrus notes give way to leesy minerals on the lengthy finish. Tasted Mar. 2024.
Mezzomondo Sangiovese Merlot 2008, Apulia Daunia

Mix of grape-oak aromas from the cork. Elegant and complex bouquet of lilacs, earth. forest floor and blackberry. Dry and medium-full bodied with more dark fruits on palate. Has a medium-length, smooth finish with mocha notes. Refined tannins are well-integrated. Good acidity and well-balanced. Yummy. Tasted Nov/2012.
See Ya Later Ranch Chardonnay 2008, VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$17.95
Apple, toast, butter, earth/mineral aromas follow on the palate. Vanilla, pear and tropical fruit notes. Crisp, medium-long finish. Quite nice. It's not over-bearing with oak as some oaked Chardonnay's can be. Tasted Jan/2011.
Konrad Riesling 2009, Marlborough, South Island

Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Fun 2009
Beaujolais, France$12.49
This red wine is fruit forward with low- to medium-intensity cran-cherry and strawberry aromas. Bitter cranberry, sour cherry and fruity flavour profile. Good acidity, slightly hot finish. Easy drinking, good BBQ wine. Would probably have been more "fun" last year.
Tasted May/2013 with other Beaujolais BBQ wines listed here:
