Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

In Situ Signature Wines Hillside Blend 2016, Aconcagua Valley
Aconcagua Valley, Chile$12.75
Tasted May/2019.
Château Du Vieux Puit 2015, Ac Blaye Côtes De Bordeaux
Bordeaux, France$17.95
80% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec, and 1% Petit Verdot. Fresh, medium intensity nose of currant, spice, and cocoa accented with herbal and olive notes. The medium-full bodied palate is lush with blackberry and spice flavours, along with hints of black plum, all supported by juicy acids. Structured tannins are somewhat chalky, but approachable. Dark berry and cocoa notes linger on the long finish. Enjoy over the next 5-7 years. Tasted June/2019.
Typic Cinsault/Syrah Rosé 2018, Igp Pays D"Oc
Languedoc, France$13.95
The nose is somewhat shy, but the flavourful, medium-full bodied, and nicely dry palate offers herbal, garrigue, mineral, cherry, strawberry, and red berry notes. Acids are well-balanced. Structured with nice spice notes add to the complexity. Very good finish length. Tasted June/2019.
Red Tractor Cabernet Merlot 2017, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$17.95
Composed of 45% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, and other varietals. Screw cap. Vegan-friendly. This bottle shows an herbally, medium+ intensity nose off the top followed by black currant, blackberry, cassis, wood spice and earthy tones. The soft, medium-bodied palate has smooth, rounded tannins and juicy acidity. It has dark fruited, herbal, and oak spice flavours. Earthy and green herb notes linger on the finish, with good length. Enjoy over the next 3-4 years. Tasted Sept/2019.
Monte Creek Hands Up Red 2017, British Columbia
British Columbia, Canada$21.95
A blend of predominantly Merlot, plus some Frontenac Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon that was mostly aged in large French oak tanks, with a smaller portion in barrel. Screw cap. The perfumed nose is very ripe with cassis and black cherry with some earthy, beetroot, and strawberry characters in a slightly jammy profile. It's medium+ bodied on the ripe palate with more jammy dark fruit and oak flavours. It has food-friendly acidity, while tannins are soft and rounded. Jammy fruit and oak notes linger on the finish, with good length. Crowd pleaser. Tasted Oct/2020.
Château Briot 2017, Ac Bordeaux
Bordeaux, France$14.95
A touch reductive aroma profile with floral, apple, citrus, and tropical fruit notes. It is medium bodied and fleshy with balanced acids. Aromas come through on the dry palate, and linger through the finish, with very good length. Tasted June/2019.
Hacienda Lopez De Haro Old Vines Rosado 2018, Doca Rioja

This is a medium-full bodied, dry rosé that is structured and minerally with red berry, herb, spice, and citrus aromas and flavours. It has juicy acids and the finish length is very good. Tasted July/2019.
