Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Marqués De Cáceres Excellens Cuvée Especial 2015, Vegan Friendly, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$17.00
This has a quiet nose that offers ripe red cherry, sweet vanillin oak, clove and plum aromas. It is full bodied with oak spice, clove, licorice, and tarry notes surrounding a core of dark cherry. There's juicy, food-friendly acidity, while tannins are firmly structured and chalky and could use a couple of years to soften. Wood spice and earthy notes linger on the finish, with very good length. Tasted Nov/2019.
Sidewood Shiraz 2016, Adelaide Hills
South Australia, Australia$19.95
Medium-high intensity nose is savoury and meaty with dark berry, pepper spice, and earthy notes. It's mid-weighted with pleasing spicy replays, balanced acidity, and very good length on the savoury finish. Tasted Oct/2019.
Riolite Il Poggio Guerriero Falanghina Beneventano 2017, Igp
Campania, Italy$15.95
A slightly oxidized nose reveals herbal, lemon, and yellow flower aromas. It's medium-full bodied with good weight to the concentrated fruit and floral, lemon, waxy, and herbal notes with very good flavour intensity. There's a touch of spice on the mid-palate, while the finish is long and juicy. Drink now. Tasted Dec/2019.
Thorn Clarke Terra Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, Barossa Valley, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$17.95
Tasted Dec/2019.
Château Recougne 2016, Ac Bordeaux Supérieur
Bordeaux, France$15.95
Predominantly Merlot, this has a medium intensity nose of red cherry, floral, and wet forest floor aromas. The full-bodied palate has nice aroma replays supported by very good, juicy acids and firm, structured tannins. More earthy on the mid-palate. Very good finish length. Needs 3 years to soften. Tasted Dec/2019.
Ferreirinha Esteva Red 2018, Doc Douro
Douro, Portugal$11.25
This unoaked red consists of 35% Tinta Roriz, 30% Tinta Barroca, 20% Touriga Franca, and 15% Touriga Nacional and has a medium+ intensity nose that is minerally and fresh with cherry and spice aromas and flavours. It's nicely balanced on the medium-full bodied palate with good fruit concentration. More minerally on the mid-palate, while the finish is long and juicy.
