Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Família Oliveda Jove Brut Cava, D.O.
Penedès, Spain$15.95
The medium+ intensity nose offers brioche, baked bread, toasty, and autolytic characters. On the palate it has crisp acidity and fine mousse supporting the nicely balanced aroma replays that are joined by lemony citrus and grapefruit flavours. Nicely textured with very good length on the finish. Tasted July/2019.
Calamus Estate Winery Meritage 2016, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$19.95
A 50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, this has a medium-high intensity nose of black currant, cassis, and some herbaceous and evergreen notes with a touch of oak spice. It is medium-bodied with supple, smooth tannins and red and black fruits flavours, plus aroma replays on the palate. Fresh acids. Curranty notes linger on the finish, with very good length. Tasted July/2019.

Huntaway Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2017, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$15.75
Pungently herbaceous and grassy, the highly aromatic nose has a core of tropical fruit, guava, kiwi notes. Medium-bodied with clean, crisp, and balanced acidity with more flavours of ripe tropical fruit and touches of saline minerality on the palate. Very good length on the juicy finish with hints of citrus and grapefruit. Tasted July/2019.

Blend of indigenous varietals Tinta Roriz, Trincadeira, and Tinta Barroca from a high-altitude, this has a fresh, medium+ nose of cherry, earthy, mineral and dark berry notes. The medium-bodied palate is fresh and spicy with nice aroma replays and hints of purple fruit. Fresh and vibrant on the finish, with very good length. Tasted July/2019.
