Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Calamus Ball's Falls Red 2017, VQA Niagara Peninsula, Ontario
Ontario, Canada$17.95
Medium+ intensity nose is quite complex, offering smoky, tobacco, black cherry, red and black fruits, with hints of herbs, currant, and cassis notes, all coming through nicely on the medium-bodied palate. Tannins are smooth and supple, while acids are nicely balanced. Very good length on the finish. Tasted Aug/2019.
Puente Austral Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, Colchagua Valley
Colchagua Valley, Chile$18.95
Tasted Aug/2019.
Sobilane Grenache/Syrah 2015, Igp Côtes Catalanes
Roussillon, France$18.95
A blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, this has a medium+ intensity nose of ripe red berry, raspberry, blackberry jam, and sweet spices. It is medium-bodied with nice red fruited, cherry and spice aroma replays. Acids are fresh, while grainy tannins are nicely textured. Very good length on the finish. Tasted Sept/2019.
Simonsig Chardonnay 2017, Wo Stellenbosch
Stellenbosch, South Africa$16.75
Medium+ intensity nose offers buttery, vanilla, and apple with hints of peach and citrus. On the medium-full bodied palate, this has concentrated flavours that mimic the nose. Vibrant acidity freshens the palate, while oak spice notes add interest on the long finish. Tasted Sept/2019.
