Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Arboleda Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, Do Aconcagua Valley
Aconcagua Valley, Chile$19.95
Medium intensity nose with cassis, blackberry, violet, purple fruit, and sweet oak aromas, all of which come through on the full-bodied palate with fresh acids. Tannins are medium level and smooth. Very good length on the finish. Tasted Nov/2017.
Arboleda Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2015, Aconcagua Costa
Aconcagua Valley, Chile$18.95
Shows a lifted nose of kiwi, passion fruit and green aromas that also show up on the medium-bodied palate. Somewhat austere in style with a rounded mouthfeel, and lacking a bit of acidity. Good length on the finish. Was a lovely pairing with the freshly made guacamole. Tasted May/2016.
Underwood Oregon Grown Pinot Noir 2015, Oregon
Oregon, Usa$22.95
Nose seems closed, but offers subtle notes of ripe red cherry and strawberry, along with some oak notes. It's light-weighted on the palate with pleasing aroma replays, bright acids and long finishing. Nice Pinot, if a bit simple. Tasted Apr/2017.
Catena High Mountain Vines Chardonnay 2016, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$19.95
Ripe tropical fruit salad aromas from the cork are quite pretty. In the glass, it has ripe buttery, apple, pear, and lemon curd aromas with touches of caramel and vanilla of medium+ intensity. The dry palate is medium-full bodied and somewhat creamy with white flowers, lemon, and apple flavours. Notable wood is subtle and nicely integrated. Acids are clean and the finish length is very good with notes of tropical fruit and lemon curd. Easy drinking and widely appealing. Tasted Sept/2017.
Provolo Tenuta Ca'nove Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore 2014, Doc
Veneto, Italy$17.95
Tasted Aug/2019.
Kono Sauvignon Blanc 2015, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$18.95
Screw cap. Medium-high intensity aromatics offer typical NZ Sauv Blanc notes of guava, kiwi, tropical fruit, with hints of gooseberry, grass and mineral. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle acids that are nicely balanced. There's good flavour concentration on the palate with more guava, kiwi, and grassy notes, plus grapefruit and saline. The finish is juicy and minerally with very good length. Enjoy this summer! Tasted June/2017.
Megalomaniac Narcissist Riesling 2016, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$18.95
Open medium-high intensity nose featuring apple, pear, petrol, orange citrus and some floral aromas. The fleshy palate is medium-bodied with juicy, balanced acids and nice aroma replays, plus Flintstone vitamin flavours, in an off-dry style. Nice chalky texture adds interest. Very good finish length. Tasted Sept/2017.
Kaiken Ultra Las Rocas Malbec 2015, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$19.95
Medium intensity nose features blueberry, sweet vanillin oak and dark berry aromas. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with ripe, sweet tannins and more blue fruited and mocha chocolate aroma replays. It has bright acids and shows some earthiness on the medium-long finish. Tasted Sept/2017.
Chapel Hill Shiraz 2014, Mclaren Vale, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$28.95
Medium-high intensity nose that's savoury with earthy, dark fruit, oak, cassis, and blackberry aromas that continue with nice appeal on the full-bodied palate. It has refined tannins and balanced acids. Long finish with earthy and forest floor flavours. This is more Syrah than Shiraz and quite nice. Tasted June/2017.
Claude Gros La Condamine Paulignan Minervois 2013, Ac
Languedoc, France$13.25
Raised completely in concrete tanks, this is a blend of Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault. Dark fruit and sweet spice aromas from the cork. In the glass, it has dark fruits, rosemary herb, and olive notes joined by an earthy component and green leafy aromas of modest intensity. The palate is medium-full bodied with bright, spicy acids. Dusty tannins are a touch drying and add nice texture. Flavour profile is ripe with dark fruits, currant, black pepper, and earthy with a resinous character, Finish length is very good. Enjoy over the next 5-6 years. Tasted July/2017.
