Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Karlo Estates Van Alstine White 2010, Prince Edward County (500ml)
Ontario, Canada$29.00
Blend of estate grown Frontenac Blanc and Gewürztraminer made in a port-style. Medium intensity aromas that is all melon. Oily texture with sweet melon, orange and citrus flavours on the palate. Lively acid and a long finish. Delicious. Tasted Apr/2014.
Anne Boecklin Pinot Gris Réserve 2008, Ac Alsace
Alsace, France$17.95
Cork aromas of orange marmalade and honey. In the glass, more lovely aromas of orange marmalade, plus peach, earth and honey. Lots of peach and honey notes on the palate, with a slight spicy finish. Starts off-dry, but the sweetness dies off at mid-palate and finishes dry with some bitterness. Good acidity. Tasted Mar/2012.
Antonin Rodet Côtes Du Rhône 2010
Rhône, France$13.95
Red-blend. Closed nose with dark berries and hints of oak with more of the same on the palate. Evident tannin, well-balanced with a long finish. It's an easy-drinking, crowd-pleaser of a red. Tasted Nov/2012.
Vineland Elevation Cabernet 2009, VQA Niagara Escarpment
Ontario, Canada$25.00
Lots of oak, smoke, currant and dark fruit aromas with replays on the palate. A simple, balanced-wine with good acidity. Tasted Sept/2012.
Chateau St. Jean Chardonnay 2010, Sonoma County
California, Usa$18.95
Toasty oak with lots apple and butter aromas with replays on palate. Some melon flavours also shine through the vanilla on the long finish. Very new world style of Chardonnay. Could be aged at least another 3 years. Tasted Sept/2012.
Penfolds Thomas Hyland Shiraz 2010, Adelaide, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$21.95
Aromas of red fruits and vanilla with more of the same on the palate. Full-bodied with chalky tannins. Quite well-balanced. Drinking well now, but will reward another 3-4 years in cellar. Tasted Sept/2012.
Mas D'auzierès Les éclats 2009, Côteaux Du Languedoc
Languedoc, France$15.75
Dark berries with hints of lavender from the cork. Kirsch liquer, cedar, and hints of earth aromas in the glass. Full on barrel oak, lots of sage, bitter cherry-pit and cassis flavours. Medium-bodied with a rather short finish. Chunky tannins will reward further ageing another 2-3 years, but drinkable now. Tasted Apr/2012.
Columbia Crest H3 Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Horse Heaven Hills
Washington, Usa$19.95
Currants, cassis, cedar and mint aromas with some earthy & herbal aromas at the tail end. Currant and dark fruits lead to dark chocolate and coffee on the palate. Good acidity with well-integrated tannins, full-bodied. Quite smooth. Should finish on day opened. Tasted Aug/2012
Tawse Sketches Of Niagara Rosé 2011, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$15.95
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Gamay. Candied strawberry and cherry aromas. Ripe, juicy fruit and slightly off-dry with strawberry and cherry on the palate. Really good acidity and with a nice finish. Tasted Sept/2012.
Michel Delhommeau Cuvée Harmonie Muscadet De Sèvre Et Maine 2010, Ac
Loire, France$13.95
Made with 100% Melon de Bourgogne. Aromas of lime and citrus from the cork. More fresh lime aromas in the glass, followed by gooseberry notes that mingle nicely together on the palate. Hint of sweetness on the finish. Dry, with zippy acidity. Very well made summer sipper that can be enjoyed alone or with a simply prepared white fish or lightly herbed chicken. Tasted Apr/2012. Score: 89+
