Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Hardy’s The Chronicles Butchers Gold Shiraz Sangiovese 2008
Australia$14.95
Aromas of plum, raisin, currant, oak, sour cherry with nuances of mint. Plum, fruit forward with ripe fruit on the palate. Ripe tannins for drinking now. I would serve this slightly chilled. Tasted May/2012.
Nugan Estate Parish Vineyard Shiraz 2008, Mclaren Vale, South Australia
Australia$24.95
Cassis, blackberry, pepper and herb aromas follow through on the palate, finishing with dark chocolate notes. Perfectly ripe tannins. If it meets your budget, this is highly recommended. Tasted Oct/2011.
Jules Taylor Sauvignon Blanc 2009, Marlborough, South Island
New Zealand$19.95
Classic gooseberry, nettle, some grass, and tinge of orange blossom aromas. Palate: Citrus with touch of honey. Flavourful. Dry. Long finish. Quite nice on this fine spring evening. Tasted May/2011.
Jackson Triggs Black Series Gewurztraminer 2009, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$9.75
2010 vintage. Gorgeous floral and clean lime aromas, also some lychee notes. Dry on the palate with lime and lychee flavours. Some spiciness on the mid-palate, and a nice finish. Easy drinking. Would make a good apertif. Tasted Sept/2012.
Bieler Père & Fils Sabine Rosé 2010, Ac Coteaux D' Aix En Provence
Provence, France$12.95
Very light, pretty, peachy hue. Aromas: citrus, nectarine, peach, grass. Dry style with flavours of herbs and grass - reminds me of a Sauvignon Blanc, but stronger in flavour. Some bubbles, slightly acidic. Long finishing, especially for a rosé. Tasted June/2011.
Casa Lapostolle Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Rapel Valley
Chile$16.00
2010 vintage. Intense currant, cassis and mint aromas. Medium-bodied with flavours of oak, spices and raspberry. Integrated tannins a bit green, will reward ageing 1 year. Long finish. Tasted Nov/2012.
Fielding Estate Estate Bottled Pinot Gris 2010, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$17.75
2011 vintage. Lovely floral, pineapple, melon aromatics. Balanced lime and citrus flavours on the palate. Finishes dry, with a touch spicy finish. Tasted June/2012.
Le Clos Jordanne Village Reserve Pinot Noir 2009, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$30.00
Intense smoky, meat, pepper, and dark fruit aromas. Bitter, dark fruits, minerality on the palate, finishing with sour cherry and touch of pepper. Balanced, light- to medium-bodied, extra dry. Tasted July/2012.
Concha Y Toro Winemaker's Lot 54 Syrah 2008, Los Brujos Vineyard, San Javier Valley, Maule Valley
Maule Valley, Chile$16.95
Aromas of mulberry and black pepper from cork. Ripe blackberry, pepper, earth, bacon and touch of mocha aromas in the glass. Mulberry, ripe red fruits on the palate. Full-bodied. Alcohol comes to fore at mid-palate of long finish. Ripe tannins. Will reward ageing another 2-3 years, but definitely enjoyable now. Tasted Feb/2012. Score: 88+.
