Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Vincent De La Remondière Les Fourchaume Chablis 1er Cru 2020, A.C.
Burgundy, France$42.75
fragrant nose is rich, ripe, intense, and fresh, w/ lovely aromas of ripe lemon, citrus, apple & pear layered over earthy-stony minerals, plus wafts of tangy citrus. It has good weight on the dry, medium+ bodied, elegantly structured palate with delicious, lightly honeyed & ripe flavours of lemon citrus, apple & pear, with touches of hazelnut, mineral & spice adding interest and complexity. It has a nicely textured mouthfeel on the mid-palate, plus very good, bracing acidity. Classic oyster shell mineral notes linger on the long, saliva-inducing finish, with excellent length. Tasted Dec. 2023.

Elegantly ripe w/ a medium-high intensity nose offers lovely & complex aromas of passion fruit, lime-lemon citrus & leesy minerals w/ touches of grapefrt, guava, spice, kiwi & melon adding nuance. It has a lovely, structured & textured mouthfeel w/ equally impressive weight on medium+ to medium-full bodied palate. It's dry w/ lovely ripe lime-lemon citrus, passion fruit, guava & leesy mineral flavours. Juicy & succulent w/ fresh, balanced & saliva-inducing acidity. Touch spicy + intriguing notes of mango & melon on mid-palate. Leesy mineral notes linger on long, juicy finish. Tasted Dec. 2023.
Domaine Pansiot Côte De Nuits Villages 2021, A.C.
Burgundy, France$40.25
Fragrant, medium-high intensity nose offers cool aromas of red & black cherries, & red currant w/ whiffs of savoury mushroom, forest floor, cinnamon spice & roses adding intrigue & complexity. It is intensely flavoured on the mid-weighted palate w/ lovely red currant, cran-sour cherry, raspberry, cinnamon spice, roses & red plum flavours, plus minerality & black tea notes. Juicy acids are fresh & lively, while the light tannins are fine-grained w/ good structure. Shows elegance throughout, w/ red currant, cherry, raspberr, & mineral notes lingering on the long, crisp finish. Tasted Dec. 2023.
Jean Max Roger Cuvée Genèse Sancerre 2019, Ac
Loire, France$32.95
This 100% Sauvignon Blanc has intense and deep aromas of lemon citrus and white flowers with underlying minerality and touches of herbal and guava adding further complexities. The medium-full bodied, concentrated palate has ripe fruited aroma replays of lemon citrus, white floral, and stony mineral flavours with elegance. It has crisp, well-delineated acidity and is really well-balanced throughout with stony mineral notes lingering on the finish, with excellent length. Tasted May/2021.
Carpineto Riserva Chianti Classico 2017, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$31.95
Blend of 80% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo, and the rest other red grape varietals. The medium-high to highly aromatic nose is fresh and open with lovely red and dried cherry, and floral aromas with hints of bretty and earthy undertones. It's medium-full bodied with very nice aroma replays on the flavour profile and supported by fresh, balanced acidity and supple, grippy tannins. Long, satisfying finish. Tasted May 2022.
Greywacke Riesling 2018, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$29.95
Screw cap. Lovely, highly aromatic nose is slightly reductive and features earthy mineral, leesy, and petrol notes followed by lime zest, citrus, and floral aromas. It has lively, vibrant acidity on the medium+ bodied palate with fine concentration. Nicely textured with citrus, floral, and apple flavours. There's some sweetness, but it is relatively hidden due to the high acidity. Apple, floral, and stony mineral notes linger on the long, lip-smacking finish. Lovely! Tasted Oct/2020.
Villa Maria Southern Clays Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2019
Marlborough, New Zealand$29.95
Bottled recently. With many months on yeast lees, this has fresh, lemony, stone fruit, citrus, herbs, and some yeasty/leesy characters, as well as earthy mineral aromas. On the medium-full bodied palate, it is rich, creamy and nicely textured with very nice citrusy, peach, and grapefruit flavours supported by juicy acids. Very good length on the finish. Needs another 1-2 years to really show itself. Tasted Mar/2020. Score: 91+ pts
Jean Max Roger Cuvée Genèse Sancerre 2020, Ac
Loire, France$37.95
Lovely, intense aromas of lemon/lime citrus, white floral, and spice layered over stony minerals with a hint of white peach. It has very good weight on the medium-full to full-bodied palate. Elegant citrus, white floral, and stony mineral flavour replays are lifted by fresh, juicy acidity. There's a nice, subtle chalky texture on the mid-palate, while citrus, leesy-stony mineral and floral notes linger on the very long, crisp, and balanced finish. Tasted Sept. 2022.
