Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Jean Max Roger Cuvée Genèse Sancerre 2018, Ac Loire
Loire, France$33.95
Intense, stony mineral aromas are layered over fresh, ripe lemon/lime citrus and white floral notes. It's quite full and powerful on the palate with some warmth due to the hot vintage, but still well-balanced with floral, lime, and stony flavours and lively, juicy, mouth-watering acidity. Tangy mid-palate with a pleasing chalky texture. Stony mineral notes linger on the long finish. Lovely! Tasted Dec/2020. Score: 91+ pts
Domaine Hamelin Vau Ligneau Chablis 1er Cru 2019, A.C.
Burgundy, France$39.95
Beautiful, fresh, intensely aromatic nose offers ripe lemon citrus, leesy mineral, golden apple, and lactic notes. The medium+ bodied palate is refined and elegant with more lemon citrus, golden apple, and mineral replays joined by subtle spicy tones and a twist of honey. Acids are fresh and crisp. There's good tension between the fruit and acidity, and it's nicely balanced overall. Lovely mineral, lemon citrus, and apple notes are subtly smoky on the finish, with excellent length. Tasted July 2022.
Bertani Amarone Della Valpolicella Valpantena 2020, Docg
Veneto, Italy$39.80
80/20 Corvina & Rondinella. The nose takes some coaxing to reveal itself at this stage with intriguing red & black cherry, blackberry, and spice aromas followed by hints of cocoa, cinnamon, tobacco leaf, and floral. It is medium-full to full-bodied on the dry, rich, and warming palate with lovely and complex black cherry, savoury spice, cinnamon, blackberry, floral, plum, oak spice, tobacco leaf flavours. Acids are crisp, juicy and succulent, while the smooth, refined, and well-structured tannins have a touch of grip. Cherry notes taper to minerals on the long, crisp finish. Tasted Jan. 2024.
El Enemigo El Mirador Bonarda 2017, Single Vineyard Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$21.95
The rich, elegant, refined, and intense nose is deep, complex and spicy with dark berries, black cherry, blackberry, stony mineral, purple fruit, and hints of chocolate. Interesting black raspberry notes emerge with time in the glass. On the medium-full bodied there is some warmth on the entry, but it has smooth, refined and nicely textured tannins that support the spicy, dark berry, black cherry, blackberry, stony mineral, and cocoa flavours. Acids are fresh and juicy. Lovely dark berry, black cherry, and stony mineral notes linger on the long finish, with excellent length. Tasted Feb/2022.
Enrico Serafino Picotener Nebbiolo 2017, Doc Langhe

The medium-high intensity aromatics feature pretty rose florals, red cherry, and berry aromas, with touches of orange. It's medium-bodied with lovely aroma replays featuring red berry, cherry and floral notes. Medium-level tannins have some structure, but are quite approachable now. Juicy acids linger through to the long, juicy finish. Tasted Feb/2020.

It's medium-full to full-bodied on the dry, crunchy palate with wood spice and orange notes joining the aroma replays and adding complexity. It's well-balanced with fresh, crisp acidity and elegant, approachable tannins. Slightly tangy with lovely red cherry, orange, sweet spices notes linger on the finish, with excellent length.
