Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

For A Song Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, Columbia Valley
Washington, Usa$19.95
92/6/2 Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Syrah. The medium+ intensity nose offers plummy, black cherry, black currant, and cocoa aromas with hints of cedar wood. The full-bodied palate has notes of dark plum, blackberry, cedar wood spice, and chocolate flavours. As it opens with time, it reveals some appealing dried herb, tea, and touches of evergreen characters that add complexity. There's fresh, food-friendly acidity, while tannins are finely-grained and rounded. Chocolate, wood, and herbal notes sing in harmony on the long finish. Tasted July/2019.
Xavier Vignon Côtes Du Rhône 2017, Ap
Rhône, France$17.95
This organic red wine is a blend of equal parts Syrah and Grenache, plus some Mourvèdre to round out the blend. The medium+ intensity nose offers lovely smoky black cherry, blackberry, and spice notes with hints of currant and minty herbs adding complexity. The medium-full bodied palate is more red-fruited and ripe with cherry, pepper spice, and currant flavours, along with some smoky mineral notes on the mid-palate. It has balanced acids and chewy, fine-grained tannins. Finishes with mocha chocolate and spice notes, with good length. Enjoy over the next 5 years. Tasted July/2019.
Strandveld First Sighting Shiraz 2016, Wo Cape South Coast
Coastal Region, South Africa$14.95
Medium-high intensity nose offers lovely meaty, black and white pepper spice, and dark berry aromas. The medium-bodied palate is supple with grippy tannins and nicely balanced aroma replays on the flavour profile. Acids are juicy, while the finish length is very good. Tasted July/2019.
Blason De Bourgogne Chardonnay Mâcon Villages 2016, Ac
Burgundy, France$17.95
Not very aromatic, but offers hints of mineral and lemon citrus. It's medium-full bodied and structured with very good fruit concentration. Mineral and lemon citrus flavours are lifted with bright acidity and a lively mid-palate. Touch of glycerin on the mouthfeel. Long, dry finish. Tasted July/2019.
Château De Montguéret 2017, Ap Saumur
Loire, France$17.95
This Chenin Blanc has a medium intensity nose of ripe peach, stonefruit, stony mineral, waxy, and lime citrus aromas. It's medium-full bodied and dry with ripe aroma replays and tart, lime citrus acidity. Has some structure, while the finish length is very good. Tasted July/2019. Score: 88+ pts
Argento Reserva Cabernet Franc 2015
Argentina$14.95
Medium+ intensity nose is ripe, but not overly ripe, and has herbaceous, grilled red pepper, currant, and dark berry aromas, all of which come through nicely balanced on the medium-full bodied palate. It's dry with chunky tannins, balanced acids. Very good length on the finish with dark berry and oak notes. Tasted July/2019.
