Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Medium-high intensity nose has buttery, oak vanillin, apple and pear aromas that also come through nicely on the bright, balanced, medium+ bodied palate that is supported by fresh, lively acids. Very good finish length. Tasted Nov/2018.

90/5/5 Sangiovese/Merlot/Colorino. Medium+ intensity nose is savoury and earthy with cherry, red berry, and wet forest floor aromas. Soft, rounded tannins with good acids and nice savoury replays on the palate. Earthy notes linger on the finish, with good length. Tasted June/2018.
Closson Chase K.J. Watson Vineyard Pinot Gris 2017, VQA Four Mile Creek, Niagara On The Lake
Ontario, Canada$22.95
This has improved since first tasting, with pretty lemon/lime citrus, honeyed beeswax, herbs, and apricot aromas and flavours supported by bright acids on a lightweighted frame. It's dry with very good length on the finish. Tasted Feb/2019.
Arboleda Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2016, Aconcagua Costa
Aconcagua Valley, Chile$14.25
10% fermented in used and aged on the lees for 5 months. This is highly aromatic and open with green, kiwi, grassy and hints of hay on the nose. The palate is medium+ bodied with vibrant and juicy acids that are very clean. Nice aroma replays on the flavour profile, plus some saline notes. Good mouthfeel with a touch of creaminess. Finish length is very good. Tasted Nov/2017.
Moselland Goldschild Riesling Kabinett 2016
Mosel, Germany$14.75
This single vineyard Riesling has a medium-high intensity nose with aromas of peach, orange citrus, and honey with mineral notes adding complexity. Bracing acids are lively, lifting the medium-sweet palate and providing freshness. Nice mineral texture and pretty aroma replays on the palate. Touch of honey lingers on the long finish. Tasted June/2018.
Wakefield Jaraman Shiraz 2016, Clare Valley/Mclaren Vale, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$24.95
Screw cap. Dark berry, mint, pepper and spice aromas waft from the glass with some jamminess. It is a touch confected on the full-bodied palate with smooth, silky tannins and fresh, lively acids supporting the minty, blueberry, dark berry, cocoa, and spice flavours. Some chalkiness arrives mid-palate. Smooth berry, mocha, and earthy notes linger on the juicy finish, with very good length. Aussie Shiraz lovers will like this. Tasted Jan/2019.
Dandelion Vineyards Lioness Of Mclaren Vale Shiraz 2016, Mclaren Vale, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$20.95
The medium-high intensity nose offers aromas of black plum, blackberry, jammy, black peppercorn, and oak spices with some jamminess. On the medium-full bodied palate, this has vibrant acids and nice black peppercorn and blue fruit aroma replays in a dry flavour profile, with jamminess firmly in the background. Rounded tannins are ripe, dusty, and smooth. Black peppercorn and chocolate notes linger on the long finish. Tasted Aug/2018. Score: 88+ pts
Infinity 2009, Igt Toscana
Tuscany, Italy$19.25
Blend of 35% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Sangiovese, and 20% Alicante. Highly aromatic, pretty aromas in the glass with a nice, mature mix of savoury and dried fruits - think red floral, savoury wet forest floor, dried cherry, and sweet oak spice, along with hints of cinnamon, black plum, and black licorice. The palate is medium-full bodied with nicely balanced, complex aroma replays. Supple tannins are nicely folding into the palate, offering some grip and dusty texture. Acids are fresh. Savoury notes linger on the finish, with excellent length. Tasted June/2018.
Casa Maguila Cachito Mío Toro 2014, Do Toro
Castilla y León, Spain$13.25
100% Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo). Medium+ intensity nose in the glass is ripe and a touch sweet with blackberry, licorice, sweet oak, and chocolate aromas. It's heavily oaked on the dry palate with more sweet oak spice flavours surrounding the core of dark berry, blackberry and black plum fruit. Gritty tannins are grippy, while juicy acids provide freshness. Mocha chocolate and oak flavours linger on the long finish. Made in a more commercial style that should have wide appeal. Tasted June/2018.
