Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

A blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Assyrtiko, this has medium+ aromatics that are perfumed with clean lime, asparagus, kiwi and passion fruit notes which continue on the palate. It's juicy with bright acids and finishing long. Tasted May/2016.

Le Fils Des Gras Moutons Muscadet Sèvre Et Maine Sur Lie 2015, Ac
Loire, France$15.95
Nice lemon citrus and fennel aromas from the cork. Made with 100% Melon de Bourgogne that was hand-picked from 40-70 year-old vines, this has pleasing orange citrus, floral and fennel with whiffs of beeswax and mineral of medium-high intensity from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a light refreshing spritz, dry and flavourful with notes of lemon/lime citrus, and floral. Texture is slightly viscous and minerally. Crisp acids. Finishes with good length and a stony mineral flavour. Tasted Mar/2017.
Aniello 006 Merlot 2014, Patagonia
Argentina$14.25
Only 30% oak-aged for 12 months. Plum, red fruit and cherry aromas from the cork. Medium-high aromatics are quite complex, offering red & black fruits, raspberry, blackberry, dark currant, black plum, some green herbal, mint, and cocoa nuances. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. Chocolate, oak-spiced, dark currant, and herbally flavours on the palate. Some savoury and black tea aromas and flavours emerge with air. Acids are bright and fresh. Dry overall with a nice cocoa-dusted finish. Enjoy over the next 3-4 years. Tasted Mar/2017.

Karlo Estates Cabernet Franc 2015, VQA Prince Edward County
Ontario, Canada$31.75
The fragrant nose offers a lovely, complex, and maturing nose of dried berry compote, spice, and savoury earthy aromas with touches of floral. On the light-to-medium bodied palate it has fine, tart, juicy acidity that frames the dark berry compote, sweet tobacco, earthy, savoury, and sandalwood spice flavours in a somewhat mature profile. Smooth, fine-grained tannins are fold into the wine very nicely, with some grip on the back palate. It's well-balanced throughout with savoury wet earth, tobacco, and maturing berry flavours on the long finish. In a lovely place right now. Tasted Jan/2021.
Foris Pinot Blanc 2015, Estate Grown, Rogue Valley
Oregon, Usa$19.25
The medium-intensity nose offers clean mineral, lemon, citrus and herbal aromas that continue on the orange-tinged palate. It's medium-bodied and dry on flavour profile, nicely textured with very good acidity. Long finishing. Tasted Apr/2017. Score: 88+ pts
