Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Fielding Estate Bottled Riesling 2016, VQA Beamsville Bench
Ontario, Canada$16.25
Ripe apple, citrus, and melon aromas of medium+ intensity. The medium-bodied palate is fleshy with tightly wound acids, medium sweet flavours that follow through from the aroma profile, plus some herbally hints. The finish length is very good. Will be better after 1-2 years of cellaring. Tasted Apr/2017.
Mondeco Red 2011, Do Dão
Dão, Portugal$13.95
The nose has graphite, cherry, steely and bretty notes, with good intensity, while the medium-full bodied palate offers savoury, earthy aroma replays surrounded by rough tannins that still need some time to soften. Acids are very good. Finish length is medium-long. Blend of 5 local varietals. Let this one sit for at least another 2-3 years. Tasted June/2017. Score: 88+ pts
San Felice Chianti Classico 2015, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$19.95
The medium+ intensity nose is rustic and earthy with dark cherry, berry and subtle wood notes. It's medium+ bodied on the palate with tannins just a touch grippy and pleasant red cherry and sweet oak spice flavours. Acids are juicy and nicely balanced and it has very good length on the finish. Tasted Oct/2017. Score: 88+ pts
La Crema Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2015, Sonoma Coast
California, Usa$29.95
Tropical fruit and lemon citrus aromas from the cork. It's quite fragrant in the glass with creamy, buttery, lemony, tropical fruit and slightly lactic aromas. The palate is full-bodied and very ripe with pear and butter flavours, along with touches of white peach and woodsmoke. It's creamy with fresh, balanced acidity. The finish is long and bitter with a fine chalky mineral texture. Tasted Aug/2017.
Le Secret Des Capitelles Saint Chinian 2014, Ac
Southwest, France$15.95
Blend of 65% Grenache and 35% Syrah. Light aromas of plum and red berry from the cork. Medium+ intensity nose is very savoury earthy in nature, followed by garrigue, wild herbs, black pepper, and blackberry with hints of florality. It's medium-bodied with nice peppery and garrigue aroma replays that are lifted by fresh acidity. Supple tannins are well-integrated and the finish is long and earthy. Tasted Aug/2017.

The medium+ intensity nose is perfumed with spice, dark berry/cherry, earthy, and beet root aromas. The medium+ bodied palate has good concentration with very good acidity and smooth, refined tannins. It's well-knit and harmonious with nicely balanced savoury, earthy, dark berry, cherry, and spice flavours that linger through to the long finish. Tasted Dec/2019.
Nederburg The Manor House Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Wo Western Cape
Western Cape, South Africa$16.95
Vague notions of curranty red and black fruit aromas from the cork. The medium intensity nose is ripe, offering aromas of cassis, black currant, dark fruit, grilled pepper and oak, with touches of mint. The medium-full bodied palate has a mix of red & black fruits, cassis, and oak notes on the flavour profile. Lively acids on the mid-palate. Tannins are supple and rounded, but gain some grip on the mid-palate. Woody notes linger on the long, dry finish. Drinking well now and should continue to drink well over the next 2-4 years. Tasted Mar/2018.
