Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Soléna Grand Cuvée Pinot Noir 2017, Willamette Valley
Oregon, Usa$42.00
Medium+ intensity nose of sour cherry, red berry, and baking spice notes, echoing on the palate. It's medium+ bodied with good fruit concentration and fine tannins that have some structure. Long, juicy finish. Drink over the next 5-7 years. Tasted Oct/2019.
Georges Duboeuf Château Des Capitaines Juliénas 2017, Estate Bottled, Ac
Beaujolais, France$17.75
Tasted Sept/2019.
Lan Crianza 2016
Rioja, Spain$16.95
This Tempranillo was aged for 14 months in hybrid oak barrels and delivers a fragrant and nicely balanced savoury, earthy nose that mingles with sandalwood oak spice, red cherry, and dark berry aromas. It's medium-bodied on the palate with lovely savoury, sandalwood, and cherry flavour replays, plus some coconut notes. Acids are juicy and well-balanced, while smooth tannins are dry and dusty. Earthy and savoury notes linger on the long finish. Recommended buy. Tasted May/2020.
Urbina Especial Reserva 2006, Doca Rioja
Rioja, Spain$42.95
Blend of Tempranillo, Graciano, and Mazuelo. The mature nose has lovely savoury, leathery, tar, earthy, dried berry, fig, and blackberry aromas, all of which come through on the savoury, mature, medium-full bodied palate. The well-knit tannins have matured well and integrated very nicely. Very good acids. Long, savoury finish. Tasted Nov/2019.
Fincas Las Moras Paz Malbec 2017, San Juan
San Juan, Argentina$14.25
Clean, medium+ intensity aromas of fine sweet spice, ripe dark berry, cherry, incense, with touches of floral and slightly raisined characters, with pleasing replays on the palate. The medium-full bodied palate is supple with some structure to the tannins that have some grip. Dark berry notes linger on the long, juicy finish. Approachable now, but better in 2 years. Tasted Nov/2019.
Tessellae Old Vines Grenache/Syrah/Mourvedre 2017, Ap Cotes Du Roussillon, Midi
Midi, France$19.95
A blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre that was raised mostly in concrete, this has a medium+ intensity, ripe, and fruity nose red cherry and blackberry, followed by sweet spices, kirsch, and incense with touches of floral. All of this comes through on the medium-full bodied palate with spice and mineral notes. It has supple, well-integrated tannins that have a slightly chalky texture. Long, juicy finish. Tasted Nov/2019.
Quinta Do Sagrado Reserva 2016, Doc Douro
Douro, Portugal$31.95
This blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz has a fresh, medium-high intensity nose that leads with smoky, flinty minerals, followed by black spices, earth, and dark berry. It is medium-full bodied with very nice, balanced aroma replays, supported by fresh acids and structured tannins. Finish is long and juicy. Approachable now, but will be better in 3+ years. Tasted Nov/2019.
Pirramimma Petit Verdot 2016, Mclaren Vale, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$28.95
Fresh, medium-high intensity nose is bright fruited with purple fruits, blackberry, vanilla, plum, and some sweet spices. It's full-bodied and dense with very nicely balanced aroma replays on the crunchy palate with tannins offering some chalky grip. Very good length on the juicy, clean finish. Tasted Nov/2019.
