Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Domaine Lafage Cayrol Vieilles Vignes Carignan 2016, Igp Côtes Catalanes
Languedoc, France$18.95
From 60 year-old vines Carignan, this has a medium+ intensity nose of dark cherry, black currant, herbs and spices. It's full bodied very good fruit concentration and very nice aroma replays plus stony mineral notes adding interest. It has very good, fresh acidity, textured tannins, and long finishing that is a touch warming, but still balanced. Tasted Jan/2020.
Friedrich Wilhelm Gymnasium Schiefer Feinherb Riesling 2017, Qualitätswein
Mosel, Germany$20.95
The medium+ intensity nose offers peach, stone fruit, lemon citrus, orange and honey aromas along with whiffs of petrol. It's medium bodied and medium sweet on the palate with nice aroma replays lifted by clean, bracing acidity. Very good length on the lip-smacking finish. Tasted Jan/2020.
Gerard Brisson Les Charmes La Louve Morgon 2018, Ac
Beaujolais, France$20.95
This Gamay has a funky mineral nose followed by red fruit, cherry, and barnyard aromas. The medium-bodied palate is also quite minerally with dark berry, black berry, and black cherry flavours. Light tannins are ripe, smooth and velvety. Acids are fresh. Earthy-barnyard notes linger on the long finish, with excellent length. Tasted Jan/2020.
Kilikanoon Killerman's Run Grenache/Shiraz/Mataro 2013, Clare Valley, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$19.95
Medium+ intensity nose with aromas of raspberry, currant, and sweet spices. It's medium-full bodied with nice aroma replays and just a hint of sweetness that's tempered by lively acidity. Slightly chalky tannins. Hints of purple fruits on the long finish. Tasted May/2016. Score: 88+ pts
Les Vignerons Du Castelas Vieilles Vignes Signargues Côtes Du Rhône Villages 2013, Ac
Rhône, France$14.25
Blend of 40% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 20% Carignan. Ripe raspberry, blackberry and kirsch liqueur on top of a layer of forest floor, and hints of sweet spice aromas from the glass. Medium+ bodied on the palate with plush, dusty tannins and flavours of blackberry, dark fruits, spice and earth. Acids are juicy. Fruit holds up well to the 14% abv. Long finish with just a touch of tannic grip. Enjoy over the next 3-5 years. Tasted July/2016. Score: 88+ pts
Arboleda Carmenère 2014, Aconcagua Valley
Aconcagua Valley, Chile$19.95
Contains 5% Petit Verdot, this has medium+ intensity aromas that are herbaceous with green pepper, hints of bramble, black olive, white pepper and brett adding complexity. The palate is medium-full bodied with pleasing aroma replays and juicy, mouth-watering acids. Long, earthy finish. Still a bit tight, but should be better in 1-2 years. Tasted May/2016. Score: 88+ pts
