Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Flat Rock Chardonnay 2016, VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment
Ontario, Canada$19.95
The medium+ intensity nose has a nice buttery, baked apple, vanilla, and butterscotch note, all of which come through on the slightly sweet, medium-to-full bodied palate. Vibrant acids keep things fresh. More butter and vanilla notes on the long finish. Tasted Apr/2018. Score: 88+ pts
Chateau D'aigueville Côte Du Rhône Villages 2016, Ac
Rhône, France$16.80
Complex, medium-high intensity aromatics with smoky, earthy, and mineral, joined by black cherry, violet, dark plum, garrigue, and spice notes. It's medium-full bodied on the slightly warming palate with smooth, refined tannins that have a supple texture. Savoury flavours of scorched earth, mineral, black cherry, black plum, violet, garrigue, and peppery spice are supported by juicy acidity. Long and savoury with scorched earth and mineral notes lingering on the finish. Tasted Feb/2021.
Cantalici Baruffo Riserva Chianti Classico 2012, Docg

100% Sangiovese from vines planted 500 metres above sea-level, this has medium-high intensity aromas of sweet oak spice, floral, and dark berries. It is full-bodied and richly structured with smooth tannins and lovely aroma replays. Acids are mouth-watering and the finish length is excellent. Has the stuffing to age 10 years. Tasted Oct/2017. Score: 90+ pts
Tenuta Di Renieri Chianti Classico 2013, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$17.25
This has a generous nose of sweet oak spice, red cherry, floral with some earthy elements and rustic charm. Hints of dried cherry emerge with time. The palate is light-to-medium bodied with soft, balanced, and well-integrated tannins that provide just a touch of grip. Fresh, food-friendly acids lift the palate. Flavours of dark cherry, blackberry, cedar, earth, and hints of dried cherry. Nicely balanced overall. Earthy notes with cherry linger on the long finish. There's just enough here to keep you coming back for another sip. Enjoy over the next 2-3 years. Tasted Apr/2018.
Momo Organic Sauvignon Blanc 2016, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$19.95
Naturally fermented with wild yeast in stainless steel tanks, and aged on the lees for 6 months. Screw cap. This has a lovely, open, fragrant nose of kiwi, guava, tropical fruit, asparagus, and lemon, with hints of yellow pepper and mineral adding complexity. It's medium-bodied on the palate with a nice creamy texture and lovely aroma replays joined by some wet wool flavours. Succulent, crisp acids are juicy. Minerally and grapefruit-tinged on the long finish. This is very nice. Highly recommended. Tasted Oct/2018.
Château D'aquéria Tavel 2017, Ac

The subtle nose is fruity and a touch candied, offering red berry, cherry, currant, and citrus aromas. It's medium-full bodied with nicely balanced citrusy aroma replays. Acids are very good. The long finish is crisp and spicy with a fine mineral note. Tasted May/2018.

The generous nose is complex, offering cassis, black & blueberry, black plum, leather, sweet oak spice and cocoa aromas. It's medium-bodied with a lush mouthfeel and ripe black plum, blackberry, earthy, leather, and cocoa flavours. Nice black pepper notes arrive with time in the glass. Ripe, dusty tannins are refined and offer nice texture, while offering some grip towards the mid- and back-palate. Earthy, forest floor notes linger on the very long finish. Best over next 3-4 years. Tasted May/2018.

Villa Maria Cellar Selection Sauvignon Blanc 2017, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$21.95
The fragrant nose is classically ripe with aromas of asparagus, kiwi, tropical fruit, grassy and slightly tart notes. It's medium-bodied on the palate with nice replays and balanced acidity. A touch salty on the mid-palate and continues on the finish, with very good length. Tasted Sept/2018.
Château De Nages Vieilles Vignes Rosé 2017, Ap Costières De Nîmes
Rhône, France$19.95
A blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre, the nose is subtle but offers rich cherry and strawberry aromas, while the medium-full bodied palate has nice aroma replays supported by balanced, juicy acids. There's some structure to this dry rosé that has a nice, rich texture. Finish length is very good. A serious, gastronomie rosé. Tasted May/2018.
