Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Flat Rock Chardonnay 2017, Twenty Mile Bench
Ontario, Canada$19.95
Medium-high intensity nose is rich and ripe with tropical fruit, golden apple, buttery vanilla, and butterscotch aromas. It's light-to-medium bodied with clean, balanced acids. The mouthfeel is a touch silky textured and has nice aroma replays on the flavour profile, plus hints of flinty minerality. Finish length is very good. Tasted Aug/2019.
Errázuriz Aconcagua Costa Sauvignon Blanc 2017, Do Aconcagua Costa
Aconcagua Valley, Chile$19.95
Fragrant and ripe with kiwi, melon, and asparagus aromas. On the medium+ bodied palate it has clean acids with a nice mineral texture and more kiwi, melon and asparagus flavours. The finish turns green and grassy with very good length. Tasted Nov/2018.
M. Chapoutier Belleruche Côtes Du Rhône Grenache/Syrah 2017, Ac
Rhône, France$16.95
Mainly Grenache and Syrah aged in concrete and stainless steel, this has a medium-high intensity that is fresh with lovely stony mineral, blackberry, black currant, and plum aromas and flavours. It is medium-full bodied on the crunchy palate with very good fruit concentration supported by juicy acids. Nicely balanced throughout with smoky mineral and dark berry notes more prominent on the mid-palate. It has ripe tannins while the appealing finish is long and smooth. Tasted Sept/2019.
Bellingham The Bernard Series Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2017, Wo Coastal Region
Coastal Region, South Africa$29.95
From 35 to 47 year-old vines and matured in 50/50 new and 2nd use French oak barrels, this has a medium-high intensity nose of honey, wax, lemon, stone fruit, and pear, with a subtle oak influence. On the medium-full bodied palate, it has very good concentration and weight to the fruit, with nice aroma replays on the flavour profile, plus some funky mineral notes arriving on the mid-palate. Acids are well-balanced, while the finish is long and elegant with subtle toasty notes. Tasted Oct/2019.
Monasterio De Las Viñas Special Selection Old Vine Garnacha 2016, Dop Cariñena

Nederburg Manor House Shiraz 2015

This South African Shiraz has a medium intensity nose featuring blackberry, savoury, and black pepper characters which also echo on the medium-full bodied palate. Acids are balanced and juicy. Tannins have a touch of grip, but are otherwise quite rounded. Very good length on the finish. Tasted Nov/2019.
Hugel Gentil 2016, Ac Alsace

Blend of Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Muscat, Pinot Blanc, and Sylvaner. Medium-high intensity nose offers orange citrus and blossom, along with floral aromas. It's medium-bodied with good acidity supporting the orange, floral, and apple flavours. There's a nice mineral texture and underpinning. Dry. Very good finish length. Tasted Oct/2017.
Henry Of Pelham Speck Family Reserve Chardonnay 2017, VQA Short Hills Bench, Niagara Escarpment

This barrel-fermented Chardonnay offers lovely, open, fragrant oak-driven aromas of vanilla, butter, apple and pear. The palate is medium-full bodied and creamy with juicy, balanced acids and very nice toasty aroma replays. Nicely balanced with vanilla, apple, and pear notes lingering on the long finish. Tasted Apr/2019.
Giacomo Mori Chianti 2015, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$22.95
Medium-high intensity nose offers ripe red cherry and spice, with leather and sour cherry hints, all surrounded by a savoury, earthy, forest floor core. It is medium-bodied with juicy acids and gritty tannins that will reward with some ageing. Nicely savoury with earthy, forest floor, red and black cherry, and oak spice flavours. Very good finish length. Really starts to shine as it warms in the glass. Enjoy over the next 6 years. Tasted Mar/2019.
