Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.

From vines planted in 1992, this has medium+ aromatics offering honeyed lychee, lemon, and ginger aromas with an earthy component. It's medium sweet on the medium-bodied palate with appealing tropical and floral fruit tones joining the aromas on the flavour profile. Acids are fresh with some sourness. Finishes crisp and on the dry side with some bitterness. Overall, very pleasing Ontario Gewurz. Tasted Aug/2017.

Montecillo Reserva Rioja 2011

This has a medium intensity nose of sandalwood, savoury, umami and earthy nose with hints of blackberry, dark currant and dried cherry, along some sweet spice notes at the tail end. It is medium-full bodied on the palate with sneaky tannins that are refined and smooth, yet build steadily in the mouth. Acids are mouthwatering. The mature palate doles out licorice, dark currant, wood, and some dried fruit characters in a savoury profile. Some sourness mid-palate. Finishes savoury and woody with hints of very appealing sweet spice and dried cherry flavours. Tasted Feb/2018.

The medium intensity nose offers pretty honey, orange and floral aromas with some perceived sweetness. On the palate, this has pleasing aroma replays that are ripe and fruity, but it's also on the dry side. It has balanced acidity and a long, juicy finish. Tasted May/2015.

Blend of 54% Malbec, 18% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Syrah, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot. The medium-high intensity aromas are fragrant with violet, bing cherry, currant, menthol, and oak spice notes. The medium-full bodied palate echoes the aroma profile. Acids are well-balanced, while the smooth, refined tannins have some grip. Very good finish length. Will age 5-8 years. Tasted Sept/2018.

On the medium+ bodied palate, this has dark fruit, black tea, blackberry, dark currant and oak spice flavours supported by juicy acids and supple tannins. The finish length is very good. 50/50 Grenache and Syrah blend. In the glass, this has medium intensity aromas of black plum, dark berry, raspberry, licorice, garrigue, and wood spice with hints of black pepper notes. It's medium+ bodied on the palate with smooth, supple tannins that are just a touch grippy and gain volume with time. Chocolate, raspberry, blackberry, red currant flavours, with touches of sour cherry and charcuterie notes appear on the palate. Acids are fresh and juicy and the finish length is very good, ending with a savoury aftertaste. Shows good complexity overall. Tasted Sept/2017.

Medium-high intensity nose featuring sweet herb, cherry, and oak spice, all of which come through nicely on the balanced, medium-bodied palate. Supple tannins and very good acidity are in balance, while the finish is long and juicy. Tasted May/2016.

Medium-high intensity aromas that are elegant, with very nice nutty, butter, golden apple and pear on the nose. It's light-to-medium weighted with bright, crisp acids and nice stone fruit aroma replays. Nicely balanced overall, with a finish length that is very long with hints of minerality. Tasted May/2017.

The medium-intensity nose is ripe and offers honeyed tropical fruit, guava, white peach and whiffs of herbally notes. The medium-bodied palate is bright and refreshing with scintillating acids, good fruit concentration and off-dry (i.e. quite sweet) aroma replays. Nice and clean with an herbally-tinged, long finish. Tasted Nov/2017.
