Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Grant Burge Summers Chardonnay 2010, Adelaide Hills/Eden Valley, South Australia
Australia$19.95
Lovely aromas of citrus, oak, nut and hints of spice. One the palate, peach, apple, citrus and oak mingle together with racy acidity and finishing long. Medium-bodied. Tastes and feels more expensive. Excellent summer appertif, but can also be paired with lightly seasoned salmon. Tasted May/2012.
Brigaldara Valpolicella 2010, Doc
Veneto, Italy$14.95
Made with grape varietals Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara. Cork was dry. Licorice, black cherry, plum, pepper and hints of smoked meat aromas. Lots of red cherries on the palate. Spicy core with good acidity throughout. Light- to medium-bodied. Dry with well-balanced ripe tannins. Very good wine. Tasted May/2012.
Featherstone Cabernet Franc 2010, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$18.95
Screw cap. Medium+ intensity aromas that feature complex notes of wet earth, bramble, ripe plum, red currant, herbal and hints of eucalyptus. On the palate, it's medium bodied very nice aroma replays surrounded by a lovely earthy, sweet core. Bright, balanced acids and very smooth, refined tannins. Gorgeous! Drink now if you have it! Tasted Feb/2014.
Camelback Shiraz 2008, Sunbury
Victoria, Australia$24.95
High intensity aromas of black pepper, oak and hints of dried fruits. Medium-bodied with smooth, integrated tannins featuring flavours of sweet ripe fruits. Finish is long and smooth with hints of blueberry. Tasted Feb/2014.
Maycas Del Limarí Reserva Especial Chardonnay 2010, Limarí Valley
Limari Valley, Chile$20.00
Citrus, apple and pear aromas from the cork. Toasty apple, buttered popcorn and pear aromas from the glass. On the palate, the bright acidity jumps at you, followed by layers of apple, pear, and spice. Medium-full bodied with a long finish. Extra dry. Moved up 1 whole point (to 89pts) on the 2nd day as acidity calmed down. Tasted Aug/2012.
Ruffino Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale 2008, Tuscany
Italy$24.95
Sweet cedar and meaty aromas from cork. Medium intensity violets, plum, forest floor and tobacco aromas from the glass. Medium-full bodied with dark fruits, boysenberry, anise and herbal notes. Finish is medium-long and spicy, with hints of tobacco and cedar. Tannins are ripe and well-integrated. Has good acidity. Ready to drink now, but could be aged another 1-2 years. Tasted Mar/2013.
Concha Y Toro Marques De Casa Concha Carmenere 2010
Chile$19.95
Plum and cherry cola nose from the cork. Alluring spice box and cherry aromas from the glass. Medium-bodied with savoury black cherry and dark red fruits on the palate. Very light tannins are backed by mouth-watering good acidity. Short finish is a touch hot. Could cellar for 2 years, but definitely enjoyable now. Tip: Serve this straight out of the cellar or even chill for 5-10 minutes prior to serving. Will pair well with the homemade pizza we're having tonight. Tasted Sept/2012.
Errazuriz Max Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, Aconcagua Valley
Chile$19.05
Also contains 9% Cab Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. Low intensity aromas of pepper, cassis and blackcurrants. Simple red and black fruit flavours on a medium-full bodied frame. Soft dusty tannins and a short finish. Was expecting better. Bad bottle/batch? This red wine didn't appeal to anyone I spoke to. I wouldn't mind tasting this again. Tasted Sept/2013.

Southbrook Triomphe Organic Cabernet Franc Rosé 2011, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$19.95
Screw cap. Fresh cranberry, baby tomatoes, green leafy and slightly sweet aromas of medium intensity from the glass. Medium bodied on the palate with cherry, orange, mineral, and hints of strawberry flavours that start a touch sweet, but goes dry at mid-palate and continues on the medium-long, smooth finish. Very good acidity and highly recommended. Tasted March/2013.
Fielding Cabernet Franc 2010, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$21.95
2011 vintage. Lavender aromas and flavours, plus cassis, cedar and smoke on the palate. Very well-integrated tannins on the medium-bodied, long finish. Tasted June/2012.
