Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Argiano Non Confunditur 2011, Igt Toscana
Tuscany, Italy$24.95
Blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 20% Syrah and 20% Sangiovese and has fruity aromas of red fruits and cherries. Medium-full bodied and round with more red fruits, cranberry-cherry notes and oak. Very good acidity, but overpowering at mid-palate with a very long finish. Chalky tannins show this red wine is still a bit young. Very long finish. Give it 2-3 years. Tasted Feb/2013.
Pondview Bella Terra Chardonnay 2011, Barrel Fermented, VQA Four Mile Creek
Ontario, Canada$20.25
Medium-high intensity nose featuring buttered popcorn, apple, pear and hints of butterscotch aromas which follow through on the well-balanced palate. It's full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and good, balanced acids. Finish is long and smooth. Tasted Sept/2013. Score: 89+ pts
Rosehall Run J C R Rosehall Vineyard Chardonnay 2011, VQA Prince Edward County

Angels Gate Riesling 2010, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$13.95
Screw cap. Highly aromatic and very appealing nose of petrol, mineral oil, lemon/lime and flinty stony minerality. The palate is medium-bodied with high, lemony acids that balances the sweetness, making this wine just a touch off-dry. Clean lemon/lime and mineral flavours, with more minerally flavours closing out on the finish, with very good length. Seems to be coming apart a bit, so drink soon. Tasted Apr/2017.
Château Clarke 2010, Ac Listrac Médoc
Bordeaux, France$42.95
The highly aromatic nose opens with rose floral and exotic sweet spices followed by bing cherry and mineral aromas in a mature profile. It's medium-full bodied on the palate with fine tannins that still have some structure and very nice aroma replays. Acids are very good and finish length is excellent. Delicious! You could age this another 7-8 years. Tasted May/2017.
Kaiken Ultra Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
Mendoza, Argentina$19.95
Medium+ intensity aromas showing cassis, red fruits and new oak. Medium+ bodied with chalky tannins on the palate. Flavour profile consists of sweet ripe fruits, plum, milk chocolate, and leather. Good acids and long finishing. Tasted Apr/2014.
Domaine Zind Humbrecht Calcaire Pinot Gris 2011, Ac Alsace
Alsace, France$27.95
Beautiful nose consisting of floral, peach and honeycomb. Juicy mouthfeel with bright acidity. Palate is medium in sweetness and has flavours similar to the aromas - peach and honey, along with minerals. Slight chalkiness arrives at the mid-palate. Finish is long and elegant. Very nice! Tasted Nov/2013.
Château Bréhat 2004, Ac Côtes De Castillon
Bordeaux, France$16.95
Plum, dried fruit and oak aromas from the cork. Medium intensity aromas of plum, clove, pine, dried fruits, cedar and vanilla from the glass. Palate is medium bodied and juicy with notes of herbs, cassis, and red currant. Tannins still a bit taut. Licorice and gentle spice driven medium-long finish. Good acids. Could be aged another 2-3 years. Nice! Tasted Nov/2013.
