Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Belcanto Di Bellussi Special Cuvée Extra Dry Prosecco Di Valdobbiadene Superiore, Docg, Italy
Veneto, Italy$18.75
From 100% Glera grapes, this is a dry Prosecco with a medium+ intensity nose of pear, stony mineral, green apple, and melon aromas. The palate has a slightly frothy mousse, but is lively due to very good acidity. Finishes dry with very good length. Tasted Nov/2019.
Chateau Des Charmes Equuleus 2007, VQA, St. David's Bench
Ontario, Canada$30.00
2010 vintage. Blend of 50% Cab Sauv, 25% Cab Franc and 25% Merlot brings aromas of cassis, smoke and oak. On the palate, there is more cassis, plus vanilla, oak, and chocolate. Very smooth with well-integrated tannins. Lovely! Tasted June/2012.
Château La Chèze 2005, Ac
Bordeaux, France$18.95
Blackberry, currant, earth aromas and flavours. Spicy palate at mid-length. Medium-long finish. Still tannic and very chalky. Probably could have used another year or two in bottle for tannins to settle. Tasted Feb/2011.
Peller Estates Signature Series Ice Cuvée Rosé Sparkling, Icewine Dosage, Traditional Method, VQA Niagara Peninsula, Ontario
Ontario, Canada$36.75
Tasted Nov/2019.
Cat Amongst The Pigeons Alley Cat Shiraz/Grenache 2008, Barossa Valley, South Australia
Australia$15.95
Minty blackberry, raspberry, basil aromas. All follow through on the palate. Finishes with earth notes. Chewy, ripe fruit. Smooth tannins. Not a big wine. Smooth and easy drinking with a medium-long finish. Tasted Feb/2011.
Kruger Rumpf Riesling Spätlese 2006, Rhine Nahe Qmp, Münsterer Dautenpflänzer
Rheingau, Germany$16.95
Petrol, slate, mineral aromas. Delicious melon, peach, citrus flavours. Smooth and refreshing. Off-dry. If you like off-dry Reislings, this is definitely one to try today or in 10 years. Tasted June/2011.
Las Rocas Garnacha 2009, Do Calatayud
Spain$15.00
From old vines 35-45 years old. Plush red fruit aromas from the glass. Medium-bodied with more red fruits on palate, joined by cranberry and spice box notes. Tannins a bit chalky. Good acidity with a medium-long finish. Serve slightly chilled. Tasted Nov/2012.
Bodegas Naia Naia 2009, Do Rueda
Spain$18.95
Muted aromas of citrus, floral (I think I chilled it too much). Rich and creamy on the palate, with tree fruits like apple and pear. Lees aging evident. Made in a dry style with a long finish. Could have been aged for another year or two. Quality wine. Tasted July/2011.
Tawse Growers Blend Pinot Noir 2009, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$24.95
Simple red fruit aromas which are also found on palate. Not complex. Light- to medium-bodied and slightly acidic. Tannins are chalky. Short finish. Tasted Sept/2012.
Malivoire Ladybug Rosé 2010, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$15.95
I have purchased this wine in previous vintages and enjoyed it each and every time. It has become a personal favourite. The 2010 features citrus, spring flowers, and strawberry aromas. Watermelon, red berries on the palate. Medium-bodied and feels heavy (not typical of a rosé.) Slightly off-dry. It's well made and definitely recommended. Tasted July/2011.
