Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Jip Jip Rocks Shiraz 2009, Padthaway, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$16.95
Screw top. Ripe red fruits, blackberry and currants aromas with touch of barnyard. Uncomplicated and quite straightforward with currant and blackberry flavours on the palate. Fresh tasting with very nicely integrated oak, not your typical big Aussie Shiraz. A very good, everyday, house-style of table wine. Tasted Mar/2012.
Villa Maria Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc 2011, Marlborough
New Zealand$16.95
2012 vintage. Fresh gooseberry, asparagus, grassy and lime aromas. Hints of citrus aromas at the tail end. Loads of gooseberry, cat pee and grass on the palate. Well-balanced with a medium-long finish. Tasted Oct/2012.

Lovely aromas of citrus, oak, nut and hints of spice. One the palate, peach, apple, citrus and oak mingle together with racy acidity and finishing long. Medium-bodied. Tastes and feels more expensive. Excellent summer appertif, but can also be paired with lightly seasoned salmon. Tasted May/2012.

Spicy core with good acidity throughout. Light- to medium-bodied. Dry with well-balanced ripe tannins. Very good wine. Tasted May/2012.

Citrus, apple and pear aromas from the cork. Toasty apple, buttered popcorn and pear aromas from the glass. On the palate, the bright acidity jumps at you, followed by layers of apple, pear, and spice. Medium-full bodied with a long finish. Extra dry. Moved up 1 whole point (to 89pts) on the 2nd day as acidity calmed down. Tasted Aug/2012.
