Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

13th Street June's Vineyard Riesling 2020, VQA Creek Shores, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$19.95
Lovely, fragrant, highly aromatic nose offers tart lemon/lime citrus, ripe apple, peach, a twist of honey and whiff of petrol. It's just off-dry with peach, apple, lemon/lime citrus, and honey flavours on the nicely textured palate and finishing dry with beeswax, honey, citrus, and grapefruit notes lingering on the dry finish, with very good length. Tasted Nov. 2022.

The medium-high intensity nose is ripe with lovely aromas of white peach, apricot, and honey with hints of floral. It's medium+ to medium-full bodied on the impressively concentrated, off-dry palate with lovely limestone mineral and earth flavours joining the aroma replays on the flavour profile. Subtle chalky texture offers a pleasing mouthfeel. Fresh acids. Tangy on the long, juicy finish. Tasted Apr. 2022.
Nieto Senetiner Semillon 2019, Valle De Uco

The elegant, fragrant, and complex nose delivers lovely aromas of paraffin, white floral, smoke, and herbs surrounding a core of white fleshed orchard fruit. The medium-full bodied, concentrated, structured, and powdery-textured palate is dry with spicy flavours of orchard fruit, tangy citrus, white floral, and herbs backed by fresh, lively, and juicy acidity. The paraffin and smoky flavours return on the leesy mineral finish, with excellent length. Tasted Nov/2021.
Xavier Vignon Lirac 2019, A.P. Rhône
Rhône, France$20.75
Blend of 80% Grenache & 20% Syrah aged mostly in concrete tank. The medium+ intensity nose seems a bit shy, offering hints of spicy raspberry & blackberry, garrigue, plus whiffs of oak & mineral. The medium to medium-full bodied palate is fruit forward and uber-ripe with raspberry, dark berry, spice & garrigue flavours surrounding a savoury core, plus touches of florality. It has juicy, lip-smacking acidity, and ripe, smooth, supple, and lightly chalky textured tannins. Nicely balanced throughout with a pleasing mix of berries and smoky mineral lingering on the long finish. Tasted Dec/2021.

Ventisquero Grey Glacier Single Block Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Trinidad Vineyard, Valle Del Maipo

The medium-high to highly aromatic nose is minerally and savoury with dark berry, olive and schisty aromas. The minerally and savoury notes continue on the medium-full bodied palate joined by smoky and dark berry flavours, followed by a tangy mid-palate. It has juicy acids and grippy, youthful tannins. Long, juicy, well-balanced finish. Will reward with time in the cellar and enjoy to the end of the decade. Tasted Nov. 2021. Score: 91+ pts

Blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Merlot, the medium-high to highly aromatic nose has a pretty bouquet of sweet red cherries, floral, spices, black cherry, and raspberry with savoury earthy undertones. On the medium-full bodied palate it has red cherry, raspberry, black cherry, and floral flavours wrapped around a savoury, earthy core.
