Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.

Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.

Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Kew Vineyards Marsanne 2019, VQA Beamsville Bench Bottle

$19.95

This blend of 93% Marsanne and 7% Viognier has a fresh, medium-high to high intensity nose with lovely savoury mineral aromas followed by wet hay, grapefruit, ripe lemon citrus, and herbal characters. It's light-to-mid-weighted on the dry palate with very nice mineral notes layered over grapefruit, citrus, and herbal replays, along with touches of apricot. Clean and composed with crisp, well-balanced acidity, it has fine mineral notes lingering on the long, crisp finish. Tasted May 2024.

The lovely, very attractive, and medium-high intensity nose has smoky, flinty, and meaty aromas with a touch of reductiveness, followed by dark red fruits, cherry, raspberry, and dried herb characters. On the dry, medium-full bodied palate with excellent concentration, it has elegant tannins supported by pleasing savoury, meaty, flinty, and olive flavours alongside dark currant, cherry, and plum notes adding complexity. It has very good, juicy acidity, while the long, balanced finish is savoury in nature. Tasted June 2024.
