The elegant, medium+ intensity nose offers ripe lemon citrus and apple with touches of banana, tropical fruit, and vanilla. It is almost full bodied on the creamy palate with lovely ripe lemon citrus, and apple, and banana replays joined by leesy and nutty tones. Notes of pink bubblegum add further interest on the slightly hot mid-palate that is juicy with mouth-watering acidity. Apple and lemon with a leesy-nutty aftertaste on the long finish. Tasted Oct/2020.

A blend of 80% Chenin Blanc and the rest Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Verdelho, Clairette, Chardonnay, Colombard, and Viognier that has a fresh, medium intensity nose of yellow fruit, earthy, stony mineral, and lemon aromas, all of which come through on the dry, medium-bodied, and textured palate with juicy acidity. Very good length on the minerally finish. Tasted Oct/2019. Score: 88+ pts

The fragrant nose has a nice mix of spice, dried herb, dark berry, ripe blackberry, and smoky oak aromas with subtle touches of mineral adding further complexity. The full-bodied palate is very ripe with blackberry, spice, herbs, currant, cassis, and oak flavours supported by balanced acidity. The smooth, refined tannins have some structure and a pleasant, chalky texture. Earthy wood spice, cocoa, and mineral notes accented by currant and cassis notes linger on the long, juicy finish. Tasted Jan/2021.

The medium+ intensity nose has a leesy, lactic characters surrounded by peach, melon, and citrus aromas. It's medium-full bodied on the fleshy, creamy, and spicy palate with flavours of tropical fruit, citrus, and hints of spicy ginger. Acids are clean and well-balanced, while mineral and leesy notes linger on the long finish. Tasted Sept/2020.

Screw cap. Lovely, elegant, and highly aromatic nose of ripe passion fruit, guava, and lime citrus surrounded by earthy minerality and saline notes. The creamy, medium+ bodied is palate is nicely textured with lemon-lime citrus, passion fruit, saline mineral, and green pepper flavours. Lively acids are finely balanced by the concentrated fruit. Hints of jalapeño join the lemon-lime citrus, passion fruit, and saline notes on the juicy, well-balanced finish, with very good length. Tasted Sept/2020.

From vines averaging 35 years of age, this organic Melon de Bourgogne was hand-harvested and matured on lees for 7 months. This organic white wine has fresh, ripe aromas of lemon citrus, stone fruit, and grapefruit with layered over fine minerality and touches of herb. It's more apple flavoured on the ripe, structured, concentrated, and medium-bodied palate with zesty acidity, joined by lemon/lime citrus and oyster shell mineral flavours throughout, while the stony mineral notes linger on the long, dry, crisp finish. Ideal with seafood. Recommended buy. Tasted July/2020.

The medium-high intensity nose is pleasantly savoury and mature in profile with sweet spice, sandalwood, and earthy aromas alongside dried berry, cherry, and touches of dried floral. It's medium+ bodied on the savoury palate with more earthy, sandalwood, sweet spice, and some dried cherry and floral flavours. Acids are well-balanced, while the fine-grained tannins have a subtle textured grip. Well-balanced throughout with lovely savoury, sandalwood, and dried cherry notes lingering on the long, slightly chalky finish. Tasted Apr/2021.

Blend of Mourvèdre, Grenache, and Syrah raised in tank. Enticing aromas of dark berry, blackberry, and black plum sprinkled with crushed stones and touches of garrigue and dried herb. The medium-full bodied palate is ripe with good fruit concentration and nicely balanced fruity-savoury-herbal flavours of dark berry, pepper spice, dried herb, and earthy notes. Refined, lightly structured tannins have a nice dusty textured character, while juicy acids are well-balanced. Some warmth on the mid-palate. Savoury, earthy mineral notes linger on the finish, with very good length. Tasted Sept/2020.
Lungarotti San Giorgio 2016, Igt Umbria Rosso

A 50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese, this Super Umbrian has a medium-high intensity nose that needs some coaxing, but reveals pretty and complex aromas of red cherry, baking spice, clove, and savoury earthy notes with touches of dried spice and floral. The full-bodied, structured palate has cherry, clove, oak spice, earthy, and mocha chocolate flavours with touches of dried floral and berry tones. Tannins are fine-grained, textured, and quite drying, while acids are very good. Savoury and earthy on the long, juicy finish. Tasted Sept/2020. Score: 90+ pts
13th Street Premier Cuvée Sparkling 2014, Traditional Method, VQA Niagara Peninsula, Ontario

Blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Aged on lees for a minimum of 48 months. Zero-dosage. Maturing, toasty brioche, autolytic, yeast, and baked apple aromatics with touches of lemon citrus and honey adding complexity. It's medium+ bodied on the crisp, dry palate with fine mousse and lively acidity. The dry flavour profile offers toasty, brioche, leesy, lemon citrus, and mineral characters. The mineral notes linger on the finish, with excellent length. Tasted Nov/2020.
