Château Des Landes Cuvée Prestige 2016, A.O.C. Lussac Saint émilion

Fruit not as pronounced as it would have been a few years ago.

Aromas of oak, cassis, vanilla , tobacco, bell pepper with a hint of plum and blackberry.

Palate of fleeting plum and blackberry. After that some herbs, pepper and black tea. After an hour plus some red fruits try to show themselves but not for long.

Medium plus acidity with grippy dry tannins that don't last too long

Mazzei Fonterutoli Chianti Classico 2018, D.O.C.G.

Refreshing Chianti with earthy aromas along with flowers, cherry, dark fruits, dried leaves (like a light orange pekoe tea). Palate was the same but with some dried fruits.

Aromas of potting soil plum, iron, blackberry, and raspberry. Ripe entry of red plum, raspberry, blackberry, violet, cream, licorice, and menthol.

A hint of chalky tannins to go with medium plus acidity, and medium finish. A complex, elegant and juicy malbec at a good price.- March 2024

Carpineto Farnito Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, Igt Toscana

I was going to open this next year, but then 2016 dropped, so I had to know what this wine is about.

Aromas of oak, raspberry, cherry, potting soil, leather, barnyard, licorice, black fruit & a hint of perfume.

This was juicy with the above fruits, perfume & earthy taste. Acidity and Tannins are soft with a tiny bit of chalk. Some menthol stays at the back of the throat for a bit but is not distracting. This exudes Tuscany like I was drinking a pure Sangiovese wine. Drink now for the remaining fruit. Oct 2022

Cave Spring Estate Cabernet Franc 2019, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Escarpment

Aromas of bell pepper, oak, perfume, burnt butter, and cassis. The bell pepper followed on the tongue along with red fruit, pepper, and menthol. A bit of chalk tannins to close out.- Nov 2023
