Rustenberg Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, W.O. Simonsberg Stellenbosch

Enticing aromas of red currant, cotton candy, black raspberry, blackberry, perfume, and dried herbs. Yet the tongue was not like the nose with all the red notes.

Tasted like ripe blackberry, game, minerals, cedar, peat-like smoke on the tongue that I loved, and menthol to finish off. Approachable tannins (90 min decant) with medium acidity and medium + finish. An absolute steal at $19.95.- Feb 2024

Château D'altugnac Haute Vallée Terres Amoureuses 2021, A.P. Limoux

At Bar Ardo restaurant, the food was excellent, and this wine paired perfectly with my orders. Pleasant aroma of cream, hay, and pear, while the flavours were a mixture of honeysuckle, perfume, white pepper, and lemon grass, with a medium finish and high acidity. A nice and fresh wine.- May 2024

Château Haut Veyrac 2018, A.C. Saint émilion

Medium aromas of cream, violet, potting soil, plum, red fruit, roasted herbs, tobacco, and a hint of black currant are present. It is juicy on entry but chalky on the finish, with notes of perfume, vanilla, chocolate, white pepper, cherry, and prune. Good stuff at a good price. July 11 2025

The Fledge & Co. Katvis Pinot Noir 2021, Unfined And Unfiltered, Wo Elgin

Paired with Saffron Biryani and it held up pretty well. Lovely perfume along with spice, candied cherry, and a hint of rubber. Juicy flavours of cranberry, tart cherry, orange rind, lemon zest, and salt. Medium minus finish that gets very acidic after some time.- March 2024

Aromas of cedar, blackberry, and red fruit. It tastes like juicy blackberry, sugar plum, tree bark, and vanilla. Medium plus dusty tannins, acidity, and finish. Fantastic with orange chicken

Quinta De Bons Ventos 2016, Vinho Regional Lisboa

This was a surprise; I was expecting something basic but nope just a good old-fashioned value wine with some sediment since it's from 2016. Aromas of plum, blackberry, and iron. Flavours of tobacco, plum, blackberry, and saline with a cedar finish. Medium acidity with soft tannins. - Oct 2023
