Château De Tréviac Corbières 2020, A.P.
Languedoc, France$15.75
Southern France blend of 60℅ Syrah and 40℅ Grenache. Medium plus aromas and flavours of red currant, black fruits, dried herbs, tree bark, and menthol. Long finish with medium chalky tannins and medium acidity. That 15% abv shines through on the nose and palate. I would have this with some food if you skipped decanting. -March 2024
Decoy Limited Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021, Napa Valley
California, Usa$49.95
Ripe aromas of blackberry, raspberry, and smoke showed up on the tongue as well. The ripe blackberry is much riper than the Silver oak wine I had before this, this also had some blatant residual sugar, and after that black currant, oak, and black licorice to finish off. I think the limited Red Decoy is better than this, even the regular Decoy Cab is better. - Dec 2023
Château De Belcier 2009, Ac Castillon Côtes De Bordeaux
Bordeaux, France$25.95
Medium-intensity aromas of lavender, balsamic, cedar, bacon fat, and some earthy aromas. Little dry yet Juicy, tannins are resolved with medium plus acidity. Sweet entry of red licorice, dark fruit, coffee, vanilla, and pepper. Great value for a 14-year-old Bordeaux which makes for an excellent food wine.
Chateau Gaillot Fournier 2015, A.C.
Bordeaux, France$15.95
Light Drinking Bordeaux which is showing some age on the rim, is probably good for two more years.
Medium minus acidity and tannins that goes away quickly and the red fruit follows the same trend, with remaining notes of Leather and herbs at the end.
Château Bonnin Pichon 2019, A.C. Lussac St émilion
Bordeaux, France$22.95
Aromas of perfume, plum, cinnamon, cloves, and dried herbs. Juicy palate of cherry, dried herbs, vanilla, smoke, game, leather, and eucalyptus. Medium plus acidity with soft tannins.
Château Des Charmes Estate Bottled Old Vines Pinot Noir 2017, VQA Niagara On The Lake
Ontario, Canada$16.95
I was surprised by this, I was expecting to be underwhelmed especially by the fruits, but that was not the case. Aromas of perfume, cedar, cherry, and raspberry. The flavours were the same with some blueberries, oak and minerals. Medium plus finish and medium acidity. Nice stuff.- Feb 2024
Château De Monrecueil 2010, A.C. Castillon Côtes De Bordeaux
Bordeaux, France$20.95
At the start, this wine smelled like potting soil, plum, red fruit, dried fruit, molasses, and sweet herbs with violet coming after some decanting. The aromas translate on the palate along with vanilla and baking spice with nice acidity and dry tannins at the end. The tannins did soften just as the violet started to show. good QPR
