Too much oak and vanilla

Marziano Abbona I Due Ricu Rosso 2017, D.O.C.G. Langhe

This was like walking into a florist, with lots of floral aromas in the glass with a bit of earthy aromas, pine, raspberry, and olives.

Flavours of plum, sour cherry, olives, sweet herbs, violet, and a hint of chalky tannins. Medium finish with medium acidity. More floral than before that's for sure.- Jan 2024

Thierry Delaunay Touraine Sauvignon Blanc 2021, Ap

Overripe Peach aromas hit right away along with grass and grapefruit.

Taste like peach and lots of them along with orange. The peach and orange tangle together beautifully as the peach pulls towards a fermenting style, the orange pulls it back to bring some balance. Before that tug of war, I also got grass, lychee, grapefruit, soft lime, and lemon. Medium minus acidity.

I like the way this was made, good value here

Mas Des Bressades Cuvée Tradition 2019, A.P. Costières De Nîmes

Started the long weekend with this nice southern Rhone wine. Lovely aromas of raspberry, perfume, orange, and game. Juicy black fruits, vanilla, salt, pepper, and some sweetness at the end. This is fantastic with mushrooms.

Kilikanoon Killerman's Run Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Clare Valley, South Australia

The wine had flavours of ripe blackberry, cassis, vanilla, oak, and a hint of tree bark. It had a dry, green, medium-minus finish. Overall, it was a great wine for a BBQ, as it wasn't overripe or dominated by vanilla and oak flavours. June 2024

Château De Ribebon 2019, Ac Bordeaux Supérieur

The aromas are a mix of blackberry, red currant, roasted bell pepper, iron, and mushrooms. The flavours are light and juicy, with barely any tannins. The bell pepper taste is more noticeable than the fruit. The finish has a bit of salt. - April 2024

Château Le Bourdieu 2016, Ac Médoc

Value Bordeaux from a great vintage, a Crus Bourgeois since 1932. 47 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot.

Medium plus aromas of perfume, raisin glosettes, barnyard, cream, and raspberry.

Medium Juicy flavours of red plum, orange, black cherry, cedar, prune, and a hint of menthol. Medium plus finish and acidity with soft grain tannins.

Via Caritatis Vox Angelorum 2020, A.P. Ventoux

Value wine made up of 70% Syrah & 30% Grenache, Vox Angelorum (which means "Voice of the Angels"). It is produced on the estate located on the slopes of Mount Ventoux in the neighborhood of Gigondas & CDP. The question is, can it compete with its famous Neighbours?

This wine has aromas of cherry, blueberry, dried herbs, iron, red currant, and prune. Flavours include chocolate, prune, muddled black fruits, licorice & menthol. It is a rich wine that matches well with puttanesca.

Lagar De Codegua Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Do Rancagua, Alto Cachapoal

There are aromas of oak, red fruit, cassis, plum, and violet. The flavours are similar, nice, and pristine, with medium (+) tannins and acidity. Decant or wait another year or two before opening. This is a good wine for the price.- Nov 2024
