On the palate, the wine had flavours of violet, cherry, black fruit, red licorice, pepper, menthol, and salt. The nose was complex, but the palate was not quite as intricate; nonetheless, still a nice wine. Soft tannins with medium minus acidity. - April 2024

Perfume aromas along with cherry, vanilla, thyme and roasted tomatoes. After some decanting the aromas becomes more earthy. The palate is the same with a hint of spice high acidity with light dry tannins

Rocca Delle Macìe Famiglia Zingarelli Riserva Chianti Classico 2019, Docg

This was more accessible than the 2018. Aromas of black cherry, dried herbs, iron, and potpourri. Tasted cherry, blackberry, salt, tomato leaf, and oak spice. Medium plus acidity and finish. Great deal at the $17.50 price I paid for it.- March 2024

Mazzei Ser Lapo Riserva Chianti Classico 2019, D.O.C.G.

Beautiful violet smell along with cherry, orange, oak and hint of herbs. The palate was the same with plum, high acidity and dry tannins that doesn't Overwhelm. Drinking well for such a young wine and should age nicely.

Frei Brothers Sonoma Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, Alexander Valley, Sonoma County

Soft easy drinking Cab with aromas of blackberry, balsamic, cassis, smoke, and some earthy aromas.

Tasted like black fruits, cherry, dried cranberry, vanilla, oak, and a hint of tree bark.

Quercecchio Brunello Di Montalcino 2017, D.O.C.G. Brunello Di Montalcino

Earthy aromas along with oak, orange, cherry, plum, cranberry, menthol and raspberry.

Palate is full of red fruit, oak, mint, pepper and dry chalky tannins that doesn't last too long because of the high acidity. Value Brunello that will shine after 2024

Aromas of cantaloupe, grass, white flowers, and mango. It tasted like stone fruit, melon, butter, lemon zest, and passion fruit at the tail end.

La Carraia Porticina Grechetto 2021, I.G.P. Umbria

A hint of petrol aromas but that went away after some time then some nice floral aromas along with grass.

The palate had some lemon zest with a hint of grass and tropical fruits.

Pizza and Chianti night, a match made in heaven. Nice aromas of perfume, cherry, raspberry, tobacco, and dried herbs. A complex nose for sure. Juicy red fruit, tomato, vanilla, tobacco and menthol. Easy drinking value wine.- Feb 2024
