Château La Prade 2018, A.C. Bordeaux Côtes De Francs
Bordeaux, France$0.00
Aromas of plum, black cherry, bell pepper, potting soil, and violet.
The palate was juicy black fruits, licorice, subtle oak, alcohol, and some earthy notes. All this was backed by mouthwatering acidity that quickly tame the tight tannins that one expects from a young Bordeaux. Had a long nice floral and citrus finish.
Blue Mountain Gold Label Brut Sparkling, Traditional Method, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia
British Columbia, Canada$29.25
Happy Canada Day and we celebrate it with this Canadian Sparkling wine from B.C. Estate grown 34.5% Pinot and 65.5% Chardonnay that was disgorged May 2022 from the 2019 Vintage, 8 grams of sugar.
Aromas of brioche, pear, and apple. Palate of strawberry, toast, honey, flint, and citrus.
Château Tourans 2014, Ac Saint émilion Grand Cru
Bordeaux, France$34.95
Medium tawny color with medium aromas of cassis, plum, forest floor, brown sugar, and perfume.
At first, the palate was chalky with little fruit but after 50 minutes, juicy red plum, cassis, balsamic, cinnamon, incense, and bay leaf. Medium plus acidity with some chalky tannins. Short finish that turns to caramelized cherry after 90 min.
Château Puygueraud 2016, Ac Côtes De Bordeaux Francs
Bordeaux, France$35.95
Muddled plum, cream, cassis, potting soil, fig, Chinese incense, dried herbs, chard meat, and violet. Tannic entry with blackberry, plum, cassis, violet, and licorice. Medium finish with good acidity. The tannins settled a bit after 90 minutes, this can still age.- Nov 2024
Casa Dea Chardonnay Reserve 2017, VQA Prince Edward County
Ontario, Canada$26.95
Oak Chardonnay with some age on it from Prince Edward County. I was hit with ocean aromas, like oyster lemon brine, lavender, and a hint of walnut.
That oyster note shows up on the tongue, like having fresh oysters from the ocean, lemon, honey, pear, and a hint of oak and lavender. This is a great food wine that's good with hummus, cheddar, veggies, and of course seafood. With food, this is a 90+ wine.- oct 2023
Château Le Temple 2015, Ac Médoc
Bordeaux, France$28.95
This a very nice Bordeaux with aromas of plum, candied cherry, herbs, cassis and oak. The palate was the same along with a nice herbal (mint) and spice taste that was backed up by soft tannins and good acidity. Great food wine
Osoyoos Larose Le Grand Vin 2016, BC VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$49.95
This had sediment, but the colour showed no signs of aging. The wine had medium (+) aromas of plum, black cherry, blackberry, tilled soil, violet, maraschino cherry, & bell pepper. It was fruity on the nose and palate but not overripe. Medium (+) acidity with medium (-) tannins, which were high on opening. I wish I had another bottle. May 2024
Gardet Cuvée Tradition Saint Flavy Brut Champagne, Chigny Les Roses, A.C. (375ml)
Champagne, France$22.75
45% Pinot, 45% Meunier, and 10% Chardonnay. Lovely lavender, cheese, and toast aromas.
It's crisp on the tongue with honey, marmalade, freshly squeezed lemon, and brioche. Lovely stuff.
