Chain Of Ponds Section 400 Pinot Noir 2010, Adelaide Hills, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$16.55
Very green tasting upon opening but greatly benefited from an hour of decanting. However, it did not measure up to Lenswood Hills Pinot Noir 2010 from Adelaide Hills as well, which was way better. Tasted March 2013.
Château Tanunda Grand Barossa Shiraz 2010, Barossa, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$22.95
Very pleasant Shiraz that is typical of these big Aussie Shiraz. Tasted August 2013.
Domaine Cauhapé Chant Des Vignes Dry Jurancon 2013, Ac
Southwest, France$16.95
Impressive wine but not necessarily a crowd pleaser. When you start drinking it, it tastes like a Sauvignon Blanc...but then the acidity kicks in... All in all, a high quality wine. Tasted July 2015.
Dievole La Vendemmia Chianti Classico 2010
Tuscany, Italy$0.00
In line with a typical Chianti Classico. Took a good hour in the decanter before I truly appreciated it. Tasted October 2014.
Ruffino Il Ducale 2012, Tuscany
Tuscany, Italy$19.95
Nice every day Italian wine, but I wouldn't call it a "Super" Tuscan, even though it is 55% Sangiovese, 25 Shiraz and 20% Merlot. Tasted April 2016.
Travaglini Gattinara 2011, Docg
Piedmont, Italy$31.95
A little bit disappointed with this Nebbiolo-based wine. Very thin and limited complexity with too much acidity. Not worth the $30. Tasted October 2017.
Terredora Aglianico 2010, Igt Campania
Campania, Italy$16.95
Classic Italian wine that comes from a region south of Naples, Italy. Very impressive wine for the price. Will get better after some decanting. Tasted December 2013.
Chåteau Moncontour Demi Sec Vouvray 2011, Ac
Loire, France$17.95
I agree with the critic reviews that this wine is quite earthy and honeyed / creamy. However, I found its greenness a bit distracting from the overall impression. Tasted May 2014.
Ringbolt Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Margaret River
Western Australia, Australia$21.95
Still a bit young but already enjoyed it at it is. Tasted March 2017.
Collin Bourisset Douce Folie Saint Amour 2011
Beaujolais, France$16.75
Light-to-medium-bodied & fruity wine that was quite tart at the start but opened up nicely after 30-60 minutes. All in all, a solid value in the Beaujolais universe. Tasted November 2013.
