Castello Di Neive Barbaresco 2011, Docg

First time to try a Barbaresco and I was utterly impressed. It matched so well with food and also great to sip on its own. Medium body. Decant well before drinking. I opened the bottle 90 minutes before drinking. Tasted February & October 2015.

Tedeschi Amarone Della Valpolicella 2007, Doc

Not bad but the 2006 vintage was way superior. Tasted July 2013

Poggiotondo Brunello Di Montalcino 2009

Poured very pale. Opened up after a couple of hours but seemed past its prime. Still a very decent wine though. Tasted May 2026.

Terre Del Barolo 2010

Nice wine but I had better Barolo at this price point. Needed a good 3 hours of decanting before being truly appreciated. Tasted January 2016.

Fontanafredda Barolo 2011

The 2010 vintage was better but this is still a very nice wine. Make sure to decant 2-3 hours before drinking. Tasted February 2017.

Decent Shiraz but I was expecting a little bit more. Maybe the Barossa Valley is not my type (McLaren Vale is more like it). Tasted March 2012.

Cortonesi La Mannella Rosso Di Montalcino 2018, D.O.C.

Last tasted April 2025. Took a while to open up. Tried it in spring 2020 and was still pretty green. Tried again in December 2021 and got a lot smoother and aged pretty well. (October 2024 update: not much change and the wine has gotten pretty flat with limited depth).(April 2025 update: same as October 2024.)

Delicious, soft Gewurtz with great length and not too sweet. Was a perfect match with fish cooked asian-style. Tasted September 2012.
