Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Château Haut Selve 2012, Ac Graves
Bordeaux, France$24.95
50/50 blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium+ intensity nose of mint, blackberry, and cedar oak. Pleasing aroma replays on the full-bodied palate joined by floral notes. It has fresh acids and a long finish. Will age nicely over the next 3-5 years. Tasted Sept/2015.
Terre Di Talamo Tempo Morellino De Scansano 2012, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$18.25
Hints of cherries and plums from the cork. In the glass, it has complex and inviting medium+ intensity aromas of dark cherry, earth, dried herbs and hints of meatiness. The palate is medium+ bodied and quite juicy with fresh acids with supple tannins. Evident oak aging is nicely integrated, with flavours of earth and hints of vanilla accenting the dark-fruited flavours. Becomes more earthy, savoury with air. Very good length on the earthy finish. Enjoy over the next 3-4 years. Tasted Apr/2016.
Whitehaven "Greg" Sauvignon Blanc 2015, Awatere Single Vineyard
Marlborough, New Zealand$17.25
Medium-to-high intensity aromas that are clean with notes of asparagus, gooseberry, and lime which echo nicely on the well-balanced palate. It's medium-bodied with good acidity and a long, juicy finish. Tasted May/2016. Score: 90+ pts
Badia A Passignano Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2010, Chianti Classico
Tuscany, Italy$49.95
Medium-high aromatics featuring dark red berries, forest floor, plum and a hint of barnyard. It's medium-full bodied with very nice aroma replays, while the finish length is very long. Structured tannins and very good acids will allow this wine to age gracefully until the middle of next decade. Tasted Oct/2015.
Hidden Bench Estate Riesling 2014, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$24.95
A blend of 3 estate vineyards, this highly aromatic Riesling offers nice petrol, citrus, Flintstone vitamins and some mineral. The palate has nice citrusy, tart lemon and golden apple flavours with just a touch of sweetness due to the high acids. The finish length is very good. Tasted Oct/2016.
Domdechant Werner Hochheimer Riesling Kabinett 2012, Rheingau
Rheingau, Germany$20.95
Medium intensity nose offers orange, citrus and stone fruits in an off-dry style, with aromas coming through on the palate. It's medium+ bodied with tight acids, and a medium-long finish. Tasted May/2016. Score: 88+ pts
Creekside Marianne Hill Riesling 2015, Marianne Hill Vineyard, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Escarpment

A medium+ intensity nose offers orange and citrus aromas with a mineral component. The palate is medium-bodied with acids that are juicy and vibrant, while balancing the pleasing aroma replays in an off-dry style. There's a chalky mineral texture on the palate, while the lengthy finish ends with orange notes. Tasted June/2016. Score: 88+ pts
Losi Millennium Gran Selezione Chianti Classico 2010, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$31.25
Medium-high intensity nose of strawberry, cherry, red fruits, oak, and sweet spice. It's medium-to-full bodied with smooth, accessible tannins and flavours of tart cherry, dried herbs, and hints of mineral. Nicely balanced acids and good length on the finish. Tasted May/2016.
Domaine Hamelin Beauroy Chablis 1er Cru 2014, Ac
Burgundy, France$26.25
Hints of lemony stone fruits from the cork. This unoaked Chardonnay has a fragrant nose of golden apples, lemon, pear, yellow flowers and hints of earth. The palate is medium+ bodied with a fine chalky mineral texture and flavours of lemon/lime citrus, coriander, saline and hints of mineral. Refreshing on the mid-palate with finely tuned acids. Clean and crisp with a mineral, saline character on the long finish. Enjoy over the next 5-6 years. Tasted Aug/2016.
La Crema Monterey Pinot Noir 2014, Monterey
California, Usa$26.95
Red and black cherry with hints of black plum and tea from the cork. Lifted nose of red cherry, raspberry, and black tea layered on top of earthy aromas. The palate is medium-bodied and very juicy with more aroma replays shining through along with some cedar oak flavours. There's fresh, juicy acidity on the mid-palate, and supple tannin that will allow for short-term ageing. Plenty of earthy, forest floor flavours on the long finish. Tasted Aug/2016.
