Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Loimer Grüner Veltliner 2015, Dac Kamptal
Kamptal, Austria$21.95
A step up from recent vintages, this offers medium-high intensity aromatics with touches sulphur that give way to mineral, orchard fruit, citrus, and green apple notes. It's medium-bodied with delicate acids and very nice aroma replays. Well-balanced and finishing long. Tasted Apr/2016.
Spy Valley Envoy Sauvignon Blanc 2014, Waihopai Valley, Marlborough, South Island
Marlborough, New Zealand$29.95
From their oldest vines, this barrel fermented and oak aged Sauvignon Blanc offers a lovely smoky nose combined with elegant grass, hay, asparagus and hints of citrus aromas. On the nicely textured palate, it is light-to-mid-weighted with tart green fruit, grass, and lime that is on the tangy side. It has well-balanced acids and excellent length on the finish. Can age at least half dozen years. Tasted May/2016.
Closson Chase K.J. Watson Vineyard Pinot Gris 2016, VQA Four Mile Creek, Niagara On The Lake
Ontario, Canada$22.95
Clean medium-high intensity aromas of peach, apricot, citrus and yellow flowers. It's medium-bodied on the palate that gains volume and texture. The palate is dry with nice herbal flavours joining the aroma replays and some mineral hints. Acids are clean and the finish length is very good. Tasted Apr/2017.
Jean Max Roger La Grange Dimiere Sancerre Rosé 2016, Ac
Loire, France$25.95
100% Pinot Noir and pretty salmon pink colour. Pretty red cherry, strawberry and tart citrus aromas from the cork. Aromas of tart red cherry, red currant, strawberry, citrus and whiffs of banana from the glass are quite intense and a touch candied. The palate is medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and fresh, balanced acids. More cherry, currant, and banana flavours with hints of herbal mint and minerality add complexity. Dry overall with excellent finish length. Tasted Apr/2017.
Emiliana Coyam 2013, Los Robles Estate, Colchagua Valley
Colchagua Valley, Chile$29.95
Fine, savoury, meaty, forest floor, crushed blackberry, and evergreen aromas along with hints of white pepper and licorice that gain intensity with air. Very complex and fairly intense nose. It's medium-full bodied on the palate and shows finesse with smooth, supple tannins that fold into the wine very nicely. Complex savoury, blackcurrant, pepper and herbal flavours are well-balanced and lifted by bright, juicy acids. Some evergreen on the mid-palate. Finishes long & savoury. Tasted Jan/2018.
Tahbilk Viognier 2016, Nagambie Lakes, Goulburn Valley
Victoria, Australia$18.95
Aromas profile features nice peach, floral, citrus and hints of grapefruit aromas of medium-high intensity. The palate is medium-bodied and dry with nice clean, bracing acids and appealing aroma replays. It's juicy with a nice mineral texture while finishing long. Tasted Feb/2017.
Vasse Felix Filius Chardonnay 2016, Margaret River, Western Australia
Western Australia, Australia$24.95
Elegant nose of apple, pear, butter, and lime aromas, with mineral accents of medium-high intensity. It's medium-bodied on the palate with crisp acids and nice buttery aroma replays. Long finishing. Nice Chardonnay for current consumption. Tasted June/2017.
Cave De Roquebrun Granges Des Combes 2015
Languedoc, France$18.95
Raised in tank. 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache, and 20% Mourvèdre. The fragrant nose is elegant, mature, and complex with lovely dried dark berry, plum, dried florals, herbs, spices, olive, and mushroom with savoury, meaty, and smoky mineral hints. It's medium-full bodied with flavours of dried dark berry, smoky mineral, purple fruit, and plum in a spicy profile that's supported by juicy, well-balanced acidity. Structured tannins are quite grippy and chalky, while the alcohol is slightly warming, but still balanced. Savoury with smoky minerals linger on the very long, chalky finish. Tasted Jan/2022.
Inniskillin Vidal Icewine 2015, VQA Niagara Peninsula (375ml)
Ontario, Canada$49.95
Highly aromatic aromas of honey, apricot, ginger and sweet Meyer lemon waft from the glass. The palate is medium-full bodied and lusciously sweet with honeyed aroma replays. There's good, balanced acidity in here to keeps things fresh and not cloying. Fine length on the finish. Tasted Aug/2017. Score: 90+ pts
