Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

California, Usa$47.95
Blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Malbec, 9% Syrah, 7% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot. Gorgeous aromas of black and red currants, cassis and cedar waft from the glass. It's full-bodied with very good, balanced acidity. Flavours mimic aroma profile plus some herbal and spice notes. Tannins nicely integrated and a long, somewhat spicy finish. Tasted Oct/2013.
Le Clos Jordanne Village Reserve Pinot Noir 2011, VQA Niagara Peninsula

Medium intensity aromas of smoky cassis and cherry. Medium-full bodied with sweet ripe fruits on the palate with notes of cassis and dried cherry. Tannins are chalky, yet smooth and integrating very nicely. Good acids and a long, warm, finish. Ageable 4-5 years. Recommended. Tasted Feb/2014.
Tselepos Classique Mantinia Moschofilero 2013, Mantinia
Greece$14.75
100% Moschofilero. Light orange-pinkish hue. Perfumed nose of orange, peach, blossom flowers, very Muscat-like. Palate is medium-bodied and dry (not sweet) with orange peel, citrus and floral notes, vibrant acidity. Quite warm mouthfeel with 13% alcohol. Excellent length on the finish. Recommended buy. Tasted Apr/2015.
Keint He Portage Pinot Noir 2012, VQA Prince Edward County
Ontario, Canada$24.25
Low intensity aromatics with smoky, beetroot, cherry aromas that show through nicely on the palate. It's light-weighted with bright acids. Taut tannins will reward with 3-4 years cellar time, but enjoyable now. Easy drinking with a medium-length finish that is a touch hot & spicy. Tasted Apr/2014.
Norman Hardie Riesling 2012, VQA Ontario
Ontario, Canada$21.00
Blend of 70% Twenty Mile Bench (Niagara) fruit and 30% County fruit. Highly aromatic with petrol, stone fruit, mineral and beeswax aromas. Light-bodied with clean minerals, citrus and peach on the palate. Medium-dry in the sweetness, but balanced acidity keeps everything in check. Long, clean finish. Very nice! Tasted Apr/2014. Score: 90+ pts
Montes Purple Angel 2011, Colchagua Valley
Colchagua Valley, Chile$59.95
This blend of 92% Carmenere and 8% Petit Verdot spent 18 months in new French oak and features medium-high intensity aromas of lovely purple fruit, cedar and black fruits. Palate is full bodied and complex with black cherry, blackberry, herb, and licorice flavours. Mouth-watering acids with a rush of acidity mid-palate, giving way to long, smooth finish. Big, firm tannins should integrate nicely over time. This is a big, powerful wine - cellar and taste again in 2-3 years. Tasted Oct/2014.
C.H. Berres ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese 2011, Prädikatswein

Cachapoal Valley, Chile$29.95
Medium-high intensity aromas with very focused notions of blackcurrant, blackberries, vanillan oak and tilled earth. Savoury on the medium-to-full bodied palate with eucalypt, blackberry and black cherry flavours. Mouth-watering acids and long, focused finish. Big wine with firm tannins that will reward with a couple of years in the cellar. Tasted Oct/2014.
