Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Megalomaniac Bubblehead Rose, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$36.95
Made with 100% Pinot Noir, this bubbly has a lovely, fragrant, autolytic nose that is clean and precise with toasty, leesy, brioche, bread, pastry aromas along with red berry and strawberry notes. The palate has appealing red berry and strawberry replays, plus autolytic brioche characters supported by fresh, vibrant acids and fine, balanced mousse. Excellent length on the long, clean finish. Tasted Feb/2020.
Le Serre Nuove Dell’ornellaia 2014, Bolgheri
Tuscany, Italy$69.95
Medium-high aromatics of currant, cherry, clove, and sweet oak that are laced with raspberry on the medium-full bodied palate. Some savoury notes throughout as well. Fresh acids. Tannins are firm and structured. Excellent finish length. Still young, and should be better in 3+ years. Tasted Oct/2016.
Sassicaia 2013, Doc Bolgheri Sassicaia
Tuscany, Italy$229.95
85% Cab Sauv and 15% Cab Franc. Highly aromatic, fragrant and complex nose of cassis, currant, sweet cedar oak, earth, red & black fruits, and a hint of mineral. It's medium-full bodied with refined tannins and very smooth mouthfeel. A touch warming on the palate, but fruit holds up well. Very nice, balanced aroma replays with some floral, clove flavours. Acids are very good. Excellent finish length. Harmonious overall, with structured tannins, this will age gracefully. Enjoy over the next 10-15 years. Tasted Oct/2016.

Lavau Vacqueyras 2014
Rhône, France$25.95
Medium-high aromatic intensity and complex with cassis, blackberry, dark fruit, oak spice aromas with a savoury component throughout. Hints of rocky mineral and peppery notes arrive as it opens up in the glass. The full-bodied palate is smooth and dense with finely knit tannins that have meshed into the palate very nicely. Dark, ripe fruit, plum, cassis with hints of peppery, savoury oak spices on the flavour profile. Acids are juicy and mouth-watering, while the finish is long, smooth and savoury. Last Tasted June/2018. Score: 90+ pts
