Nederburg Sauvignon Blanc 2012, Western Cape

Screw cap. Medium-high intense aromas which are complex featuring an intriguing mix of lemon peel, herbal, gooseberry, asparagus, and hints of butter. Medium bodied with a slightly oily viscosity, and crisp, mouthwatering acids on the palate. Pleasant lime and gooseberry flavours with hints of melon on the medium-long finish. Nicely balanced throughout. Recommended buy. Tasted Jan/2014.

Luigi Bosca Reserva Malbec 2011, Mendoza

Made from vines over 50 years old that are located 960 metres above sea level. Medium intensity nose with green, ripe black fruit and oak aromas. Medium-bodied with pleasant aroma replays and notes of bitter chocolate. Chalky tannins will reward another year or two in cellar. Mouth-watering acids and a long finish. Tasted Apr/2014.

Mas Des Bressades Cuvée Tradition Rosé 2012, Ac Costières De Nîmes

Earthy, red fruit and mineral aromas. Medium-bodied with slightly creamy mouthfeel. Cranberry and red fruits on the palate. Nicely balanced with good acidity and a medium-long finish. Tasted June/2013.

Château De Sancerre Sancerre 2011, Ac

Herbaceous, citrus, lemon rind, butter aromas of medium intensity. Palate is medium-bodied and extra dry with unexpected pear and butter notes. Nice acidity with a lingering finish that shows hints of spice. Also contains 8% Semillón and 2% Sauvignon Gris. Easy drinking and food friendly. Tasted June/2013.

Union Red 2010, VQA Niagara Peninsula

Screw cap. Blend of Merlot, Cabernet, Gamay Noir, and Pinot Noir grapes from the excellent 2010 vintage. Medium-high intensity aromas of ripe black fruits, blackberry, oak, and hints of elderberry. Dry, medium-full bodied with ripe tannins. Nice aroma replays plus dark currant currant, spice and hints of mocha. Balanced acids and long finish. Chill slightly. Yummy. Tasted Mar/2014.

Santa Rita Medalla Real Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Maipo Valley

Medium-high intensity aromas of cassis and blackcurrants. Medium-full bodied with nice aroma replays. Good tannins and acidity with slight spicy with white pepper notes on the lingering finish. Tasted Oct/2013.

Deinhard Green Label Riesling 2012, Mosel Saar Ruwer, Germany

Screw cap. This white wine has muted aromas of pink grapefruit, peach, and Flintstones vitamins. Medium in sweetness with white peach, floral, petrol, and wet rocks on the palate. Hints of honey linger on the medium-long finish. Good acidity and medium bodied. Tasted Jan/2014.

Errazuriz Estate Chardonnay 2012

Medium-high intensity aromas that show grassy, herbal, lime and tropical fruit notes. Medium-full bodied on the creamy palate with spice, orchard fruit and pear flavours. Vibrant acidity on the mid-palate and finishes hot. Tasted Sept/2013.

Heitlinger Mellow Silk Pinot Noir 2011, Prädikatswein

Screw cap. Low to medium nose that features smoke, pepper, earth, and mushroom aromas. Light-bodied with delicate, yet firm tannins. It's dry with pepper, tomato leaf, herbal, earth and hints of mushroom and strawberry on the palate. Tannins a bit chalky at mid-palate and some heat on the medium-long finish. Chill slightly. Tasted Jan/2014.

Forrest Estate The Doctors' Sauvignon Blanc 2012, Marlborough, South Island

Only 9.5% alcohol. Aromas are of medium intensity with notes of mineral, lees and and some earthiness. Light-to-medium bodied with chalky texture and mineral, floral and citrus on the palate. Long, tart finish. Elegant and balanced overall. Tasted May/2014. Score: 88+ pts
