Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

La Crema Chardonnay 2014, Monterey County
California, Usa$26.95
Lemon and ripe fruited aromas from the cork. Aromas of medium intensity showing butter, poached apple, butterscotch and orchard fruits. Full bodied on the palate with butterscotch and baked apple flavours, along with hints of caramel. There's hints of sweetness on the palate and notable oak influence, but it's not overdone. It has delicate acids and good length on the slightly warming finish. Tasted May/2015.
Herdade Da Pimenta 2013, Vinho Regional Alentejano
Alentejo, Portugal$19.95
Medium-full bodied, dense, and concentrated with woody, chocolate, dark berry, and blackberry aromas and flavours. Acids are balanced and the finish length is very good. Tasted Mar/2019.
Domaine Costa Lazaridi Amethystos Red 2012, Pgi Drama
Greece$26.95
This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (20%) and Agiorgitiko (10%) has a medium-to-high intensity and elegant nose of cassis, red currants, black fruits and white pepper. The aromas make a pleasing appearance on the full-bodied palate, with juicy acids, refined tannins and a long finish. Good fruit-oak balance. Tasted May/2016.
Monopole Rioja 2015
Spain$15.95
100% Viura. Ripe nose of tropical fruits, mango and pineapple with pleasing aroma replays on the palate along with some wildflower flavours. Touch of sweetness on the palate. Acids are fresh, while the lengthy finish has a mineral-bitter component. Should have wide-appeal. Tasted Sept/2016.
Mcmichael Collection Chardonnay 2014
Ontario, Canada$11.95
Screw cap. This unoaked Chardonnay was fermented and aged for 8 months in stainless steel tanks. Fresh pear, citrus aromas with hints of mineral and peach. The fleshy palate is medium+ bodied and a shade off-dry with citrusy, melon, green apple, white pepper and hints of stony mineral flavours. Acids are juicy, nice and fresh. Fine length on the finish. Serve nicely chilled and enjoy this summer. Tasted Aug/2016.
Southbrook Triomphe Organic Cabernet Franc Rosé 2015, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$19.95
Stelvin screw cap. Pretty salmon colour. Shy nose offers glimpses of red fruit, strawberry, floral, sweet herbs and hints of honey. The plush, medium-bodied palate has honeyed cran-cherry flavours with some pepper and herbally nuances. It's dry with gentle acids and good length on the finish. Best enjoyed with just a slight chill. Tasted June/2016.
The Tragically Hip Ahead By A Century Chardonnay 2014, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$21.95
Screw cap. Binned apple, buttery aromas with hints of vanilla and oak of medium intensity. The palate is medium-bodied and creamy with more apple, butter, vanilla notes, joined by pineapple and butterscotch flavours. Oak is well-integrated, acids are juicy. Good length on the finish. Ideal for rich seafood such as crab and lobster. Tasted July/2016.
Mike Weir Limited Edition Riesling 2014, VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$16.25
Screw cap. Clean orange citrus and petrol nose with whiffs of sweet lemon and stony minerality. It's clean and crisp on the palate, slightly fleshy, with pleasing aroma replays of medium-dry sweetness. Acids are juicy, clean and well-balanced. Fine length with some wet stone notes at the tail end of the finish. Tasted Sept/2016.
16 Mile Cellar Rebel Chardonnay 2012, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$14.75
Medium intensity aromatics showing butterscotch, sweet vanilla, pineapple and pear notes. Medium-bodied and elegantly styled with nice aroma replays and a chalky texture. Balanced acids. Finish is long and clean, with touches of oak. This really opened up in the glass as it warmed with air. Tasted May/2015. Score: 88+ pts
Rodney Strong Chardonnay 2014, Sonoma County
California, Usa$23.95
This has medium-high intensity aromas of golden apple, butter, and toasty vanilla oak with a hint of saline. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with a creamy lactic texture and salty, ripe, tropical fruit, caramel, and butterscotch flavours. It has clean acids and a long, caramel-tinged finish. Tasted July/2017.
