Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Anakena Single Vineyard Carmenère 2010, Malva, Peumo
Rapel Valley, Chile$12.95
Medium-intensity herbal, tomato leaf, licorice, and hints of cocoa aromas. Full bodied on the palate mocha, black fruits, blackberry flavours. Enough tannic grip that will allow it to be cellared 2-3 years. Perfect pairing with goat kebabs. Tasted Aug/2013.
Famille Perrin Les Christins Vacqueyras 2010, Ac
Rhône, France$23.95
80/20 Grenache and Syrah. Open, medium-high intensity nose that offers mature, stewed dark berry aromas alongside sweet baking spices, leather, dried purple flowers & savoury wet earth, plus some dried dark berry tones. Dry, tangy, and medium-full bodied palate, the fruit is shifting into mature, dried spectrum & is joined by savoury wet earth, leather, and dried spice flavours. Has tangy, lemony acidity, while grippy textured & astringent tannins overwhelm palate. Savoury earth, spice, floral + smoky mineral notes linger on the finish, with a touch of heat at the tail end. Tasted Jan. 2025.
Gloria Ferrer Carneros Pinot Noir 2008, Carneros
California, Usa$25.95
Nice smoky and beetroot aromas. Medium-bodied with red currant, vanilla, and woodsmoke flavours on palate. Well-integrated tannins and has a long finish. Tasted Sept/2012.
Lailey Chardonnay 2010, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$19.95
From the very good 2010 vintage. Yellow apple and tropical fruit aromas from the cork. Fresh, ripe aromas of tropical fruits (pineapple), apple, butter, popcorn, and hints of barnyard on the nose. Medium-bodied and a crisp mouthfeel with flavours of butterscotch, apple, and tangy tropical notes. Slight creaminess on the mid-palate. Hints of smoke on the long, smooth finish. Delicious! Enjoyed with homemade Halibut and Chips and Onion Rings. Tasted July/2013.
Casa Castillo Monastrell 2010, Do Jumilla
Murcia, Spain$14.95
Meaty and fleshy plum aromas from the cork. Aromas of blackberry, violet, cedar oak, and smoked meat from the glass. Medium-bodied on the palate with ripe, dark fruits and subtle violet notes. Very smooth and well-balanced with very finely-grained tannins. Delicious and a great value! Tasted Oct/2012.
Lighthall Pinot Noir 2010, VQA Prince Edward County
