Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Mission Hill Reserve Chardonnay 2010, VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$21.95
Nose seemed a bit closed with apple, oak, peach and pineapple aromas. Full-bodied with a round core of ripe orchard and tropical fruits on the palate. American and French oak is well-integrated. Easy drinking, crowd pleasing wine. Tasted Jan/2013.
Maipe Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$17.95
Cherry aromas from the cork. Earth, currant and cassis aromas in the glass, and follow through on the palate with herbal spiciness and espresso. Gained a couple of points on Day Two. Needs another 1-2 years, or aerate/decant today. Tasted Dec/2011.
Hinterbrook Riesling 2010, VQA Niagara Lakeshore
Ontario, Canada$14.25
Screw-top. Aromas: tropical fruit, lemon citrus, stone fruits, mineral and petrol. Tropical fruit, lemon-citrus, slightly tangy on the palate. Finishes with honey and some mineral notes. Deliciously medium-dry. Very good wine to sip on its own or pair with mild-cheeses. Tasted Feb/2012.
Plunkett Fowles Stone Dwellers Shiraz 2008, Strathbogie Ranges, Victoria
Victoria, Australia$19.95
Screw cap. Medium-to-high intensity nose featuring stewed fruits, blackberry, dried herbs, black pepper spice and earthy tones. It's full-bodied with sweet, integrated tannins and very nice aroma replays joined by hints of violet and eucalyptus notes. Rush of fresh, juicy acidity mid-palate. Finishes long and earthy. This lovely Aussie Shiraz should continue to drink well over the next 2-3 years. Tasted Jan/2016.
Santa Julia Uno Brut Sparkling, Mendoza (4 X 187ml) (200ml)
Argentina$12.00
Honeyed apples with hints of balsamic vinegar aromas. Low intensity of fine bubbles. Quite full-bodied with citrus, lime and hints of sweetness on the palate. Good acidity and lingering dry finish. Tasted Oct/2013.
Greenlane Estate Riesling 2010, Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$21.95
2011 vintage. Clean lime and petrol aromas with hints of citrus. Aroma replays on palate with bright acidity that's a bit bumpy. Some tartness on the medium-length finish. Tasted Sept/2012.
Stoney Ridge Cabernet Merlot 2009, Niagara Peninsula

Spicy vanilla, currant, cassis, smoke and black pepper aromas and flavours. Perfect complement for goat cheese. Tasted June 2012.
Featherstone Rosé 2011, VQA Niagara Peninsula
Ontario, Canada$14.95
Blend of 60% Gamay and 40% Cab Franc. Fruity red fruits, cranberry, and candied fruit aromas. Bracing acidity and dry with candied cherries and strawberries on the palate. Finish is a touch hot. Would make a great apertif. Tasted Sept/2012.
Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Paso Robles
California, Usa$19.95
Very intense aromas of smoke, earth and oak. Big wine with big tannins that are well-integrated. Full-bodied with dark fruits and touch of mint on the palate. It's smooth with mouth-watering acidity and has a long finish. Tasted Nov/2012.
Flat Rock Cellars Pinot Noir Rosé 2011, VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula

Cranberry aromas lead to green, herbal notes on the palate with crisp acidity and finishes a bit spicy. Some tannins evident. Easy-drinking rosé that has some body to it. Tasted June 2012.
