La Crema Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2009, Sonoma County
California, Usa$45.95
Lots of red berry fruit and wonderful, lingering spice. It's not that typical overly fruity style that is sometimes associated with California pinots. I enjoyed it.
Lallier Grande Réserve Grand Cru Brut Champagne
Champagne, France$48.95
Wonderful Champagne. Great balance of fruit, mineral and biscuit flavours. Everything is just so well integrated and the finish is long.
Château Malmaison 2006, Ac Moulis En Médoc
Bordeaux, France$28.95
This wine is a nice example of a well-made Bordeaux wine with good value. A bit shorter on the finish but the black and red fruit is wonderful. I would buy this wine. I think it would be nice with some food.
Rocca Delle Macìe Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano 2006, Docg
Tuscany, Italy$21.75
A lovely Tuscan wine for just under $25. Spice, earth, leather, fruit...it has it all there in good balance.
Macrostie Chardonnay 2008, Sonoma Coast
California, Usa$30.95
A lovely Chardonnay from Sonoma. I found it be very elegant. There was oak but just the right amount. It's very well balanced showing nice acidity and minerality. Yum!
Mitolo G.A.M. Shiraz 2008, Mclaren Vale, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$36.25
Maybe I'm not a huge lover of Australian Shiraz. I wasn't a fan of this wine for the money that it's commanding. Yes, it's a good wine and I'm sure plenty of people will love it! I think for me personally, I would rather spend half the money and get the E. Guigal Syrah. Just my two cents!
Le Clos Jordanne Talon Ridge Vineyard Chardonnay 2009, VQA Niagara Peninsula, Vinemount Ridge
Ontario, Canada$40.00
An elegant Chardonnay from Ontario. A very nice example of a cool-climate Chardonnay. Great acidity and minerality. There is oak but it's very well integrated. I think for myself, I would prefer to be every so slightly less oaked. It's a nice wine.
Henri Bourgeois Porte De Caillou Sancerre Blanc 2009, Ac
Loire, France$23.95
Powerful aroma with this one. Citrus and some tropical fruit. It's zesty and crisp while having some subtle oak. Lovely example of a Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley of France. Mmm...goat cheese with this wine would be fantastic.
Domaine Gille Les Brulées Nuits St. Georges 2008, Ac
Burgundy, France$26.90
Wonderful fruit but not too fruity. It's light with good structure. I enjoyed it very much. A very nice Pinot Noir from Burgundy.
Stratus Gewurztraminer 2009, VQA Niagara On The Lake
Ontario, Canada$24.25
A beautiful expression of this grape variety. I'm impressed. It's so well balanced and leaves you with a lingering finish. Wonderful flavour with enough acidity to hold it's own. A slight spice at the end. Delicious.
