Prunes, blackberries, and herbs on the nose. It has lots of ripe fruit (very juicy), softening tannin, and is light-to-medium bodied. Feels a bit overblown in the end though - not sure if it will keep together structurally in the long-term. Drink now.

Apple, pear, and hints of petrol on the nose. Some crisp acidity on the palate but slight inbalance between the sweetness and acidity. Keep for 2-3 years.

Plums, herbs, coffee, and meatiness on the nose. It is medium-bodied and juicy, but somewhat tannic.

Santa Carolina Chardonnay Reserva 2011, Casablanca Valley

Green beans, lemons, butter, and toast on the nose. Smooth with crisp acidity on the palate. The wine is medium-to-full bodied and represents excellent value.

Villa Maria Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc 2012, Marlborough

Grassiness, nettles, gooseberry, and spices on the nose. It has crisp acidity with lots of ripe fruit. Not quite as good as the 2011 vintage.

Santa Julia Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, Mendoza

Cassis, black cherry, chocolate, and spices. It has plenty of fruit, is medium-bodied and a bit tannic.
