The Winery Of Good Hope Chenin Blanc 2009, Wo Stellenbosch

Honey, peaches, lime, and floweriness on the nose. On the palate there is crisp acidity with plenty of fruit and a lingering aftertaste. More body than one would expect from a South African Chenin Blanc.

Durbanville Hills Shiraz 2008, Durbanville

Blackberries, cherries, smokiness, and pepper on the nose. Tannis are still somewhat green, but there is lots of dark fruit and a crisp acidity, creating a balanced mouthfeel. The aftertaste is short and somewhat disappointing, but otherwise this is great value.

Luigi Bosca Reserva Syrah 2006, Maipú, Mendoza

Domaine André Cologne & Fils Beaujolais Villages 2009, Ac

Cherry and raspberry on the nose with plenty of spicyness. Juicy and medium-to-full bodied. More substance than your average Beaujolais wine.

Herdade Paço Do Conde 2007, Vinho Regional Alentejano

Blackberry, coffee, herbs, and earthiness on the nose. There is ripe fruit on the palate and the wine is medium-to-full bodied. The tannins are still somewhat green, however, and overall the balance feels somewhat off. Will probably improve over the next 2-3 years.

Green apple, turpentine, and floral notes on the nose. It is light-bodied, off-dry, with crisp acidity. Good value.
