Cherries, banana, and spices on the nose. Somewhat bland with a flat structure. Avoid.

Black plums and chocolate on the nose. It has soft tannins and plenty of fruit.

Carmen Chardonnay Reserva 2009

Lots of oak on the nose - it is actually somewhat overwooded. A bit lacking on the fruit on the palate.

Deakin Estate Shiraz 2010, Victoria

Blackberries, meat, and spices on the nose. It has plenty of fruit, but some green tannins. The wine is medium-bodied and good value at the price.

Trapiche Astica Sauvignon/Semillon 2011, Cuyo

Beeswax, cut grass, peaches, and apricots on the nose. It has crisp acidity and is medium-bodied. Despite some creaminess the acidity is, however, someone overwhelming. Pretty good value nonetheless.

Nederburg Winemaster's Reserve Shiraz 2012

Blackberry, smokiness, tobacco, and meatiness on the nose. It has lots of fruit with softening tannin. Very drinkable.

Henry Of Pelham Non Oaked Chardonnay 2007, VQA Niagara Peninsula

Citrussy bouquet with floral hints. Medium-bodied, more substance than what one would expect from a non-oaked chardonnay. Crisp acidity makes for a very drinkable wine. Some mineral flavours apparent on the palate and aftertaste. Not spectular but well worth its price.

C D A Old Vine Garnacha 2009, Carinena

Prunes, smokiness, jamminess, and pepper on the nose. Medium-bodied and very fruity on the palate with ripe tannins. Very drinkable.
