Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.
Over time, my passion for wine grew. Now, I am highly regarded by friends and colleagues as a resource for when they need a wine for that special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, wedding, gatherings at home, or when they want to impress their special friend or the In-Laws.
Combining my interest in the Internet/web/computers, you can find me at https://vintagewinepicks.blogspot.com where you will find more wine reviews, events and contests.

Tuck Beckstoffer The 75 Wine Company Cabernet Sauvignon 2017, California
California, Usa$37.95
Tasted Jan/2020.
Puech Haut Prestige Saint Drézéry 2017, Ap Languedoc
Languedoc, France$29.95
This blend of 55% Grenache and 45% Syrah was raised in concrete tanks and has a lovely, medium intensity spicy, peppery, black cherry, and wet earth nose. It's medium-full bodied with very good structure and integrated tannins. The palate is spicy with red and black fruit flavours, plus some minerality. High alcohol is relatively well balanced. Very good purity of fruit with a spicy finish. Seems a bit young, this should be even better in 2-3 years. Tasted Jan/2020.
Zuccardi Apelación Vista Flores Malbec 2017, Uco Valley, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina$24.95
Medium+ intensity nose has a lovely dark berry, blackberry and black cherry core surrounded by stony mineral and black pepper spice aromas. It is medium-full bodied on the palate with more succulent dark berry and pepper spice flavours flecked with stony minerals and hints of purple fruits. Spicy on the mid-palate with fresh and vibrant acids, while the tannins are gritty and a bit tight at the moment. Juicy and long on the finish with with stony mineral, dark berry, and violet notes. A lovely Malbec that should improve in 2 years and enjoyed over the next 5-6 years. Tasted Feb/2020.
Xanadu Djl Chardonnay 2018, Margaret River, Western Australia
Western Australia, Australia$21.25
This Chardonnay was barrel-fermented in mostly used French oak barrels and spent another 9 months in oak for maturation prior to the final blend. It has a medium+ intensity nose of pear, stone fruit, and lime citrus. Oak is mostly a textural element on the medium-full bodied palate with tart citrus, pear, and green apple flavours. Acids are juicy, while the finish length is very good. Tasted Jan/2020.
El Enemigo Cabernet Franc 2015, Mendoza
Tupungato, Argentina$23.95
From a specific plot of the Adrianna Vineyard in Gualtallary, the medium-high intensity nose delivers classic Cabernet Franc herbaceous, tobacco, and dark berry aromas along with some vanilla spice notes. It is medium+ bodied with very nice aromas replays on the flavour profile, plus some dark currant, dark cherry, and smoky notes adding complexity. Acids are crunchy, while tannins are smooth and refined. Long, balanced finish and should drink well over the next 5-6 years. Tasted Nov/2019.
Nugan Estate Alcira Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, Coonawarra
South Australia, Australia$29.95
The highly aromatic nose is minty and herbally, with currant, cassis, and touches of smoke adding complexity. It's full-bodied on the palate nice herbal-minty replays plus red and black fruits on the flavour profile. Acids are well-balanced, while structured tannins provide support. There's just a touch of warmth, but enough fruit to hold it together on the long-lasting, structured finish. Tasted Jan/2020.
Henry Of Pelham Speck Family Reserve Chardonnay 2018, VQA Short Hills Bench, Niagara Escarpment, Ontario
Ontario, Canada$29.95
This barrel-fermented Chardonnay spent 1 year in new oak barrels. It is elegant and open, with medium-high intensity aromatics offering buttery, vanilla, apple, pear, and oak spice notes. It's full-bodied and ripe on the creamy palate with very nice buttery replays on the flavour profile. Very good fruit concentration is supported by juicy acidity. The long finish offers vanilla, spice, and buttery notes. Tasted Jan/2020. Score: 90+ pts
Château De Nages Vieilles Vignes Costières De Nîmes 2017, Ap, Rhône
Rhône, France$19.95
70/20/10 Grenache/Mourvèdre/Syrah. Medium-high to highly aromatic nose is open, complex, and well-knit with lovely ripe and spicy black cherry, raspberry, blackberry, kirsch, black pepper, and smoky mineral aromas with touches of black plum and violet. It is medium-full bodied on the slightly warming, but balanced palate, with black cherry, raspberry, smoky mineral, pepper spice, and herbal flavours. Succulent acids are juicy and while smooth tannins are somewhat chalky textured. Smoky mineral and black cherry notes linger on the long, mineral-textured finish. Tasted Oct/2020. Score: 90+ pts
