Trinity Hill Syrah 2013, Hawke's Bay, North Island

March, 2020.....really enjoyed this....medium bodied, 12.5%, a gentle but rich syrah....went well with chicken. Great value, would buy this all day long!

Nov/21.....for sure all gone....can remember opening them because drinking window was closing so probably 2019 (but I know see MG suggests 2026!) but don't remember much about them. Faint recollection was ok, nothing special. May have gifted one?

January 2021.....obviously a quality wine but my bottle was past its prime in my opinion. Colour a very garnet red. Bottle remained upside down in cellar the entire time and sediment blocked flow initially. Not sure if storage caused any negative impact. That said, it got better with aeration but still lacked a zest I'm sure it held in its earlier life. Regret not having had sooner, feel like this was a winner of a wine.

February 2022....birthday gift to George (memories of our trip to SA)

April 2022...loved this one! Was concerned I bought too many, in fact I may have bought too few. A wine I think anyone would enjoy. Flavourful, smooth, food friendly & delicious. Med-Full body. Has a Mediterranean feel. Look forward to next one.

??....drank the last 2 some time ago (2019-2021?). Enjoyed them all! Savoured the on we brought home from Italy! Remember writing Eric about it.

As I recall, really enjoyable, as always, not quite sure when we drank it but I suspect in the range of 2014-15. Would buy again.

May 2020.....had with leftover eggplant pasta, nice, wow the tannins were very drying but it was quite delicious in the spectrum of Barolo. Wouldn't drink it all the time but still a fan of a good Barolo.(91)
