Pirramimma Katunga Gts 2007, Mclaren Vale, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$24.95
2016+2017 (18 latest)
April 2016...still not enjoying this style of wine much anymore, too alcholic (14.5) and sweet (typical Aussie). First glass ok but got tired of it with 2cd. Ok to gift remaining bottle.
?? Think I may have had the second bottle in 2017/18 and pretty sure I enjoyed it more than the first, perhaps had mellowed further.

2021 + summer 2022
January 2021.....had with chicken salad and quinoa salad....nice, better than the Adamo, but a light gamay noir not my cup of tea....I prefer more mid-weight and perhaps more fruit. There is a sharpness to GN that doesn't much appeal to me. Only ever meant to buy 2 bottles, so wont keep the second 2 after this initial taste. Drink second one summer of 2022.
May 2023....what a difference a couple of years can make! No sharpness, was smooth and flavourful (cherry). Quite enjoyed with both chicken and pork meals. Highly drinkable and enjoyable! (90+)

both LCBO and Wine Align advertise as a 2017 but is actually a 2018?? Whats more, in the past I've purchased either a 2014 or 2015, which I liked and it no longer appears in their history??
Dec 2020....Xmas gift to Kim & Kelley
October 2021....for Thanksgiving. Went well enough with our turkey thighs and roasted vegetables. A bold, rich and dark wine with exotic and smokey flavour. Smooth enough to enjoy as a sipper but better with food. First sip Crystal had had since her pregnancy with Auston, she said it was heavenly! (90)
Jean Max Roger Cuvée La Grange Dîmière Sancerre Rouge 2015, Ac

2021+2022+2023++?
September 2021....with salmon melts. Perhaps a bit austere for this entree. Salmon better suited for for a softer and fruitier PN. This has strong flavour and a stony tartness, with a touch of bitterness. Perhaps better with a red meat of some kind (pork, shepherds pie, hamburger etc...). Will be interesting to taste in another year from now.
July 2022..beautiful! Smooth, delicate, delicious. Had with roast salmon. Perfect right now....drink last one in next 6 months.

July 2019.....wow, really nice after 30 minutes of air time....had with bbq dry-aged flank steak....superb! Almost too smooth....so easy to keep drinking.

-can't remember 1st one ( likely 2017)
- hostess gift to Rona Thanksgiving 2018
December 2021....worried I might be late with this one but it was fine. Possibly past its peak, missing some freshness perhaps, but smooth and satisfying all the same. Had with cabbage rolls, went well. This wine is surely in my 'favorites' column, consistently good year after year.
