A hint of pineapple and lemon under a buttery, butterscotchiness. Earth and hazelnuts, a result of the ageing process give was to a long, silky finish.

Bonterra Chardonnay 2009, Mendocino County Bottle
Bonterra Chardonnay 2009, Mendocino County
California, Usa
$19.95

Rich aromas of banana, coconut, butter and caramel permeate the nose, with a hint of lemon lingering in the background. This is a full-bodied drink balanced out by some crisp acidity and a fairly long, round, spicy finish.

I love Cava and this bottle is good value. A nice Sunday afternoon kind of drink. Light and crisp with a fine mousse, fresh apple and pear on the nose with a citrus finish.

Cono Sur Organic Chardonnay 2011, San Antonio Valley, Chile Bottle
Cono Sur Organic Chardonnay 2011, San Antonio Valley, Chile
San Antonio Valley, Chile
$14.05

This would be a great sipping wine on a warm summer's day. It has some ripe aromas of peaches, pineapple and even a little butterscotch, but is crisper on the palate with simple pink grapefruit and lemon.

Kacaba Barrel Fermented Chardonnay 2009, VQA Niagara Escarpment Bottle
Kacaba Barrel Fermented Chardonnay 2009, VQA Niagara Escarpment

A lush, Chardonnay with some sweet nutmeg and caramel flavours that nicely compliment the buttery apple aromas. A hit of acidity on the finish blances things out and makes this a lovely drink.

Chateau Ksara Blanc De L'observatoire 2010, Bekaa Valley

Very aromatic with some floral notes, ripe tree fruit, and just a hint of caramel. Supple on the palate with a long, full finish. A nice white wine for sipping on its own.

Luigi Bosca Reserva Malbec 2009, Mendoza Bottle
Luigi Bosca Reserva Malbec 2009, Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina
$17.95

A complex nose of earth, sour cherry, tobacco, vanilla, smoke, dried herbs is followed by a juicy, fruity quality on the palate; a bit on the light side for a Malbec, but nicely balanced and would make a great food wine.

Villa Maria Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc 2011, Marlborough Bottle
Villa Maria Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc 2011, Marlborough
New Zealand
$16.95

This is a great bottle of the New Zealand version of Sauvignon Blanc, which to me is always about the passionfruit and the slight bit of body to the wine. This bottle definitely has that passionfruit aroma along with some gooseberry, apple and a little grass, or greenbean depending upon your nose. The texture is smooth, but it finishes with a crisp, acidic bite and a lasting impression of citrus fruit.

Loads of dark fruit with cinnamon and nutmeg and fresh mint quality. Round and full on the palate; soft tannins compliment the sweet prune and peppery finish.
