Torre Mora Scalunera 2021, Etna Rosso Doc
Sicily, Italy$37.95
Nerello Mascalese Blend. Perfectly ripe red fruit, including dark cherries, redcurrants, and strawberries are joined by pretty aromas of cherry blossoms. There is also a savoury side to this wine, reminiscent of muddy wild mushrooms, wet earth, and savoury herbs. The long finish is equally multifaceted. The palate is medium bodied, with bright acidity and fine, quite drying tannins
Vigna Di Pettineo 2022, D.O.C.G. Cerasuolo Di Vittoria Classico
Sicily, Italy$28.95
Nice fruit, well balanced acid and tannins. Long sour cranberry finish wasn't our favourite - probably the frappato.
This is an organically produced blend of nero d'avola and frappato, designed for immediate charm and freshness. There is no oak involved here. It has a generous, candied nose of cranberry, pomegranate and cherry, with botanical greens and herbs. It is medium weight, a touch sweet but energized by mouthwatering acidity, some alcohol warmth (13.5%). Tannins are mild; the length is excellent.

Pecchenino San Luigi Dolcetto Di Dogliani 2022, Doc
Piedmont, Italy$23.95
Delicious - ripe cherry and black pepper with a long, tart cherry finish. Double thumbs up.
Undeniably delicious, this expressive dolcetto leans into the grape’s naturally soft acidity, yet holds its ground with fine-grained, gently grippy tannins. A clean, low-intervention red that lets the fruit do the talking. Bold, juicy, lightly ferrous with a scattering of dried rose petals. Salty and savoury but lifted by sweetly ripened red fruit. Honest, grounded, and unmistakably of its place.

Château Gaillard Beaujolais Villages 2023, Ap, Sustainable
Beaujolais, France$19.95
In the vein of light, chill-worthy, warm weather-friendly reds, here’s lively Beaujolais Villages with more elegance and nuanced complexity than the norm. Finely composed with gentle botanicals, white pepper, a melange of just-ripe red fruit, silky tannins and just enough acidity. Clean and expressive with a dried wildflower that lingers on the finish of notable length. Certified sustainable.
