Matetic Corralillo Syrah 2016, Do San Antonio Valley
San Antonio Valley, Chile$21.95
This needed some time to open up, but quite impressive when it did. First notes where something like a field of wildflowers with lots of rich berry fruit. With time, very nice pepper and herb notes emerged, and it began to track much more like a syrah.
Ken Forrester Old Vine Reserve Chenin Blanc 2021, W.O. Stellenbosch
Stellenbosch, South Africa$18.95
Quercecchio Brunello Di Montalcino 2015, D.O.C.G. Brunello Di Montalcino
Tuscany, Italy$36.95
Surprisingly light ruby shade, but more substance than the colour suggests. Med bodied, juicy and spicy, spreading across the palette with a nice array of herbal and flowery notes. Very nicely balanced, with the tannins mellowed and the alcohol carried well. A very nice drop, approachable and satisfying.
Barone Ricasoli Brolio Bettino Chianti Classico 2018, D.O.C.G.

Fattoria Di Basciano Il Corto 2009, Igt Colli Della Toscana Centrale
Tuscany, Italy$22.75
Another excellent Il Corto, although seems more evolved than the 2007 at a similar age. Packed with flavours of earth, spice, and dried fruit. Very Tuscan. Perhaps not quite as fine as the 2007.
