Mr. Szabo is bang on with this one. This is what I love in old world wine. That harmony of flavours and textures. Fruity/savoury, fresh/dried, smooth/structured, mature/vibrant....and a delightful finish. Extremely drinkable, works well with all kinds of food (I had it with a pasta course and a beef course).

This is a case where the price is justified by the quality.

Another excellent Il Corto, although seems more evolved than the 2007 at a similar age. Packed with flavours of earth, spice, and dried fruit. Very Tuscan. Perhaps not quite as fine as the 2007.

It's only wine but I like it

Impressive concentration and density to this Sangiovese-dominated red. Red cherries, hints of earth and some vanilla from oak ageing. To me, this is a modern take on a tradional model....a wine that hasn't lost sight of its Tuscan roots. Drinking nicely now, but another year or two should see this mellow a bit further. Tasted Sept 2014.

Great Chianti Ruffina which I found more refined than Chianti Classico at the same price point.Tasted December 2014.
